Ok, on a computer that I own, besides having Windows 98, I also have Windows For Workgroups 3.11 because, well, because I’m a nostalgia junkie I guess
Anyway, in Windows 98 I successfully installed AOL 7.0 no problems. In Windows 3.11 I installed AOL 4.0, but it can’t find my modem and the modem I’m using isn’t in the list of modems to choose from.
For now, I have a
33.6K Speakerphone ASVD Modem PND
I’ve tried a couple of times to choose a 33.6 modem from the modem list so far no luck.
If anybody has any suggestions of how to get AOL to recognize the modem, or if you know the name of another kind of modem I could choose from the modem list that’s compatible with this modem, I’d appreciate it.
I am planning on upgrading to a 56k modem sometime, but info on this problem could be helpful I run into it with the new modem too.
Thanks.
This was years and years ago, but I belive with AOL, if you start playing around with the Haynes Compatable modem you could usually get it to work.
