AOL problem

From time to time I can’t get AOL to bring me to any web site, it keeps giving me the same type of error, for example, if, in the address box, I type in
www.ebay.com
I got
res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/navcancl.htm#http://www.ebay.com/
and I got the same kind of thing for any other web site I entered.
In fact, I had to start up Netscape just to be able to post this.
Usually, if I shut down AOL and restart it, the problem goes away, but why am I getting this error anyway? (And please don’t say something useless like “Because AOL is crap”, thank you.)

Because Aol is cr…

Do you get the error when you use a third-party browser?

If not - use the third party browser. Use it even if you don’t get errors!.

If you learn the art of new-window-browsing then it’s far far better using the third-party browser than using AOL’s internal one

(pedantic people - I know AOL’s internal browser is IE. what I mean is - use IE seperately, do not use the aol software [with IE integrated] to browse the internet)

IE - Internet Explorer (microsoft)

And if my reply wasn’t thorough enough - ask some followup questions - I crave attention.

I use AOL but I don’t use their crappy browser. I use Mozilla. Take Lobsang’s advice and get a real browser. They will work with AOL.

When I get that kind of error, it’s while using the browser integerated with AOL, although I sometimes get it with IE by itself. But I never get it with Netscape Navigator.
