So we’ve been fostering a mother cat and her kittens since a few weeks before they were born. They’re now 5 weeks old and driving their mother (Isis) crazy. Damn kids just don’t listen! They play with the dogs even though it’s obvious to Isis that the dogs are evil, evil creatures that are going to eat her babies at any second (really, any second now!), and they keep climbing the golf bag! Don’t they know that’s dangerous!? So Isis is always meowing in distress about something.
Yesterday, she’d been meowing in the same spot for some time. I go to check and three of the kittens are sleeping asleep on top of my husband’s golf bag. With clubs in it. So I laughed at them and got them down for Isis, and today–same thing. They’re determined that the golf bag is the best bed in the house. Cracks me up. Isis is less amused.
BTW, the golf bag is stable, not to worry. You can see all the kitten pics in the linked album.
My son-in-law is allergic to cats - yes, really! He gets the red-weepy-eyed thing after less than five minutes in my living room. My 15 year old cat, Jose, died two years ago but his legacy lives on in the carpet fiber, sofa fiber, etc. It’s finally lessening and the s-i-l can visit without a full-blown attack. Fortunately, this is his only allergy or else he’d be unsufferable.
I visit the local SPCA cat adoption sites periodically and can always find several that would be a perfect fit.
Sigh. It’s not going to happen. I don’t want my daughter to divorce an otherwise perfect match for her, but damn! I’d love to adopt a kitty like one of these!
I laughed out load at that pic. Very cute. They sure can get themselves into weird spaces. It is hard to believe that sleeping like that is even comfortable.
Situations like that is why I don’t even bother to buy cat beds. They never sleep in them anyway and I find them sleeping in weird spots in weird positions that sure look uncomfortable to me but they seem quite happy snoozing away.
They do love the bag. It’s like a kitten jungle gym or something. At least it’s getting some use; it’s been sitting in the same spot for almost two years now. They’ve been very entertaining today.
You obviously haven’t heard of Allerca[sup]TM[/sup] brand Hypoallergenic Cats! Genetically engineered not to cause allergies! Only $8000 per cat and a 2 year wait for a kitty!
I can has birdie?
