Sometimes, when I get a new message, I just leave it unread, using the lock screen notifications as a reminder of something. That way, whenever I pick up my phone, I’ll be reminded of whatever it is.
Now, is there actually some feature/app (for android) such that I can just write such notifications myself? Like, I pick up the phone, say to look at the time, and am automatically reminded to pick up some bread on the way home. Seems like this would be an obvious functionality, but I haven’t, yet found it anywhere…
Can you simply put items in your task list or calendar that become due now? Depending on how you configure your lock screen and how you configure the built-in calendar & task apps that may do it for you.
Since each model of Android phone comes with slightly different OS config and built-in apps you’ll have to experiment with yours specifically.
There’s certainly no reason somebody couldn’t write a dedicated app that accepts input into a small text box and displays it on the lock screen as a single permanent notification. If you can’t find one I suspect it’s mostly because devs are assuming the customers already know about my first suggestion.
That didn’t work with the standard calendar on my phone (it only seems to provide an alert, but once I answer that, it’s gone). But anyway, I’ve just found an app (easy notify) that seems to do what I want. Thanks for your answer!
