Appalling defects in social intercourse in Ohio

As a former Ohioan, I am relieved to note that inappropriate comments about other people’s food seem to be universal. As a for instance, the other day I went to Charley’s Steakery to get lunch. As is my habit when I go there, I got a full-sized (12-inch) Philly Deluxe combo meal to go. Now, I realize that this is a lot of food. I also realize that I’m not as slim as I used to be. However, I ALSO realize that I almost never eat lunches like that, and, that particular day, I just FELT like it.

The “gentleman” taking my order said “I hope it’s enough for you…and everyone else.”

Of course, now I think about it, he could have been from Ohio, too.

I love Ohio. I love being from Ohio. And I’m glad to report that such behavior is not limited to Ohioans.

I’m making copies of your rant to hand out downtown tomorrow, but with my crappy Canon printer, I think I’ll only be able to enlighten about 17 fellow Ohioans…will that be okay? Cuz if they each tell 17 more, everyone will know by early Friday and no-one will say a word to you at the movies on Saturday.

But did you forget the basic lesson of Ohio schools…don’t eat in front of others unless you have enough to share. Next time you go get a sandwich and bring it back to eat in front of all your co-workers without even offering to pick something up for them while you are out, remember it’s not polite to eat in front of someone who is not, unless you offer to share. Which I would refuse, because you always put too much sauce on everything.

(PatrickM, did you just move up from Cowtown?)

Damn Ohioans. What is with them anyway?
