Apparently cheese gets you mildly high?

found this today … lots of things i didnt know…explains why i eat a lot of it lol

Hey man, you want to do some Muenster? This shit is seriously top shelf! I’m looking to score some Gorgonzola and maybe we can have a party this weekend.

No wonder the Cheese shop owner got shot by the peckish client when there was no cheese.

I tried it once and it clogged up my bong.

If you buy stinky cheese, the kids won’t eat it all on you. Just in case you’re having that problem. The younger they are, the less stinky it needs to be.

Isn’t casein in all dairy products?

Well, this explains a lot . . .

Though in reality, it seems that for most individuals, casomorphins are broken down into smaller, non-pharmacologically active peptides in the gut and are then absorbed as nutrients and fail to supply and ‘opioid high’.

Per the article linked below: "Nevertheless, in some individuals that are immunocompromised, their condition increases permeability of the gut barrier often referred to as a “leaky gut” condition. Thus, the absorption of β-casomorphins appears possible.

Edamed if you do, Edamed if you don’t.

I’ve tried ‘doing’ cheddar cheese before bed hoping it might intensify dreaming. The experiment was inconclusive, maybe some more dreams, remembered better? Maybe not?

:notes: Sweet dreams are made of brie…:notes:

Oh, that’s Gouda!

Blessed are the cheesemakers?

So if I drink casein protein shakes (which would have more protein than several servings of cheese) I’m going to be high all the time?

OTOH, the capsaicin found in hot peppers and the spicy foods that contain them have been shown to pretty universally trigger the release of endorphins and dopamine that create feel-good sensations. Though a much easier solution might be to live in a state or country that has legalized cannabis.

What you want is vitamin C! (Not really.) Back in my youth I convinced myself based on extremely unreliable, anecdotal evidence from a sample of one (me) that taking vitamin C before bedtime induced more vivid dreams. I never really proved or disproved the hypothesis, so go ahead and try it, but be aware that the hypothesis is backed up by the world’s worst research project!

Casein is also found in some “artificial” cheeses and, as an old Godfather’s Pizza ad reminded us, in glues, as well. Casein was also the ingredient used in old-style milk-based paints to get them to stick.

So maybe you can get high by eating the right glues.

“Mildly”?.. please.

Ch-ch-ch-CHEESE?!

Who am I to diss a brie?
I cheddar the world and the Saanenkaese
Everybody’s looking for Muenster….

So, what I’m gathering is that I need to find a local cheese-maker who can whip up some Ghost Pepper/Skywalker OG jack cheese for my Monte Christo sandwiches.
