So Mrs. D had just picked up our 1.5 yr old daugher after she fell halfway down the stairs. She was quite shook up by the experience so we were both consoling her. Little D has this habit when she sucks her thumb of also grabbing onto the edge of some sort of fabric with her other hand…her sleeve, the edge of the blanket, or in this case, the edge of Mrs. D’s collar. Only this time, Little D didn’t want to just grab my wife’s collar, she wanted to grab her collar AND the edge of her bra. This was puzzling and bothering Mrs. D so she asked her, “Why are you putting your hand down my shirt?”
Being the type of guy that likes to get a good zinger in on my wife whenever possible, I immediately asked Little D, “Are you a lesbian?” to which Little D immediately nodded her head and said, “Yeah,” and then proceeded to continue sucking her thumb.
That was the hardest Mrs. D and I laughed together in a long time.
Fabulous, I’ll notify the central office immediately.
It’s a shame you didn’t know earlier; she could have broken the record, which is currently held by a 11-month-old who will only wear flannel and insists on being called ‘Mo.’
Anti-region? Actually, many of us are in favour of promoting regional autonomy and correcting the fiscal imbalance between the federal and provincial blah, blah, blah…
Good point. Now that I think about it, she likes spending time with mom and dad equally. (Though, I won’t go into how she likes to sit on top of me and bounce up and down. )
