Sam’s Simple Theme. Board level and Topic level seem to be the same. But the Forum level (where I see lists of Topics) appears to have changed the colors of the Topic titles.
Current: Topic with unread posts, the title color is light blue. Topic with no unread posts, title color is purple.
Before (as best I can remember): Topic with unread posts had title color of bold black. Topic with no unread posts, the titles were gray.
It’s not a bad change, I can certainly learn to live with it, I’m just surprised that it happened apparently with no warning, and wondering if it means anything, or if other things are going to change unexpectedly.
It occurs to me that this change might have been in place for a while, but it didn’t manifest right away for me due to cookies or something. As I said, not a problem, just a bit of concern about the “how” of it.
As is mentioned in a different thread about this, switch your user interface theme to Straight Dope Light (or Dark) at least until discourse sorts this out.
Click on your avatar in the upper right corner.
On the right side of the resulting list is a series of icons, click on the bottom one, an outline of a head, called Profile.
On the resulting new list, click Preferences.
On the resulting screen, across the top are various choices. Click on Interface.
On the resulting screen is a dropdown list called Theme. Click on that and choose a different theme.
At the bottom of the page, you must click on Save Changes for the change to take effect.
I can’t get that to work on mobile. I have a Samsung not an iPhone. When I try to follow the steps you posted the I can’t find Preferences or Interface.
Click on your icon. Click on it again to go to your profile. Click on the little gear all the way to the right, then scroll under it all the way to the right until you get to Interface.
