"Apprentice" finale, 4/15/04

I like Mark Burnett’s shows. I’ve watched Survivor since the beginning but it is getting tired and stale, despite the little tricks they throw in. I still think Survivor better represents the alliances and back-stabbing that goes on in typical office politics though. But The Apprentice was FRESH! Plus, I grew up in north NJ and spent a lot of time in NYC. It’s fun to see places I still recognize there.

Bill was the right person for the Trump organization. Kwame was too hands-off, too laid back and didn’t seem to have the ability to really direct his people when they needed it. No tears for him though. Heard he accepted an offer with Mark Cuban to manage some of his financial assets.

Omarosa was a pure villain. I really hated her. She disgusted me. Getting caught on TV in a flat-out lie has to be the low point for just about anyone. Didn’t she realize that they were filming EVERYTHING? Did she really think she could get away with it? I suspect she is going to wind up trying to find parts playing the evil woman in some TV shows (sort of like Joan Collins played in Dynasty).

I’m looking forward to next season’s show!

Damn, I was on the phone last night during the whole “Apprentice” segment on Nightline, so I might have been hallucinating – is it really the case that Assaroma’s one firm gig is a shampoo commercial?

Someplace in the TWOP forum (I think the one on Media Articles) is a post saying that Clairol has hired Omarosa for a commercial. There’s also an e-mail address to tell Clairol what you think about Omarosa as a spokesperson.

Apparently the campaign is something like “Tame your mean self”.

Whaaaaattttt???

So she’s on screen, and she’s shaking her magnificent mane which is, of course, beautifully lit, and she says: “Sudsy Shampoo is the best I’ve ever used. And it smells good, too.” Do we believe her? Do we believe any word that comes out of her lying mouth? Do we buy Sudsy Shampoo??? Not me, brudda!

And didn’t the Big O’s hair remind you of the head of the Alien? That up then down swoop was very unattractive. And where was little Jessie during the final wrap-up? And didn’t they cut off Tammy rather quickly when she got her chance to say something? At least she managed to sputter out “my husband” when they mentioned she was pregnant.

I really wish someone would have called Katrina on her performance at the golf course. When Bill said the office had to be cleaned out NOW and she just stood there basically saying “I’ll get around to it eventually”, then complaining that he wasn’t trusting them to get the job done…well duh! How can he trust you when you didn’t even seem to listen to what he said? And don’t you think if you have to assemble a huge quantity of gift bags that you would find a dining room or conference room with long tables and set up a more organized assembly line, rather than having to step over everything and peer into the bags to see what’s where? Plus she was nowhere to be found when she was supposed to be manning a table…just sucking on her water bottle somewhere.

Nick was pretty much invisible at the golf course…I got the impression he was out there doing his job and didn’t require the supervision the girls did.

Heidi didn’t impress at all…“I don’t know how to set-up a meet & greet, and I’m not gonna ask anybody, either”. I don’t particularly like Jessica Simpson…okay, I dislike her a lot. Never have I seen a performer who grimaces and gestures quite so unattractively. But they really didn’t give her much time to relax and prepare before the concert, and the Big O was really getting on her nerves with all the tambourine and wig stuff. Jessica was being very polite in the face of a woman who seemed to think she was the star of the concert. I think the Big O’s phoniness was incredibly transparent.

I truly believe that Omarosa is unemployable right now. The only reason anyone would hire her is for the publicty. I wouldn’t hire her for a retail job…I think she’d do fine in sales the first go-round, but customers wouldn’t come back a second time for fear of having to deal with her. She’s the kind of person who a customer will say yes to just to have the experience end.

Are No Excuses jeans still around? I’d hire Omarosa to flog those, maybe.

As has been stated over and over, though, it’s hard to imagine hiring her in a position where you have to place any trust in her to get something done.

And apparently they’ve been so inundated with threats to boycott their products if they reward that narcissistic bitch with a contract, that they’re now majorly backpeddaling:

Here’s to the Power of The People – Yay! I added myself to the list of letter-writers in the hopes that “may never” becomes “will never.” Here’s their contact page for anyone else who wants to write.

It definitely occurred to him. I assumed that he was not allowed to fire anyone, because there was one sequence where he said, “I don’t have the luxury of firing Omarosa.” I figured that there was a rule there that we hadn’t heard about.

According to Access Hollywood – Assaroma’s Herbal Essences gig is off, but a cameo on Passions is on.

I was just watching some dumb show about supermodels while I read the board and saw a ticker at the bottom of the screen. Apparently the Chicago tower Bill is supposed to manage has no funding, so Bill essentially doesn’t have a job. Also, Ereka made a public statement that she would boycott Clairol if Omarosa is their sponsor.

Anyone know anything else about the Bill situation?

Thank you for that link, Shayna I have sent a vigorous email to them regarding that vile she-devil.

There was an article in the New York Times a couple of days ago saying just what you said in your posting. All sorts of problems involved with that skyscraper-to-be.

You can read an interesting interview with Kwame here, at tvguide.com. WRT firing Omarosa he said:

And you’re very welcome, Shirley Ujest. And thank you for adding your voice to the chorus. I’m glad to hear it’s been successful, at least in this instance, in thwarting her efforts to remain in the spotlight. Hopefully she’ll continue to feel such a strong backlash that we’ll drive her into obscurity!

The Los Angeles Daily News reports:

Omarosa was on Joe Sarborough show this evening. I can see why that woman was in politics. She kept dancing around and basically refused to let herself be pinned down about whether she lied on the show. The transcript should be up HERE tomorrow and should make for interesting reading!

Here’s the direct link to the transcript of Omarosa on Joe Scarborough on Monday evening 4/19 - Link

Also found this interesting article:

What an incredibly dumb article.

Yes, when Troy and Bill ripped off their shirts and chased down some horny women to get an extra dollar for their lemonade, I remember thinking what great networking! Oh wait. That never happened.

The direct URL didn’t work for me; I had to go through the main MSNBC link provided above.

But I wish I’d have seen that. It sounds like Scarborough was a pretty persistent questioner. Can anyone who saw the piece comment on how it came across on TV?

Um, okay, Omarosa – but working hard is definitely the one thing you didn’t do.

Will the madness never stop? From the Scarborough transcript:

From a CNN article with Kwame:

Hmm. Link works for me, I just tested it again.

Yes, I watched the whole thing. JS was very persistent and knew he was getting to her but like a good politician, she kept refusing to answer, always beating around the Bush or refusing to address the issue, saying she was past that now and wanted to move on.
