Apparently Ass-Aroma and Amy get into it tonight. Can’t wait!
Dare we hope that Troy slips up (him bein’ just a country boy who don’t know nothing 'bout that fancy art stuff), so Versacorp goes to the boardroom? She’d go with him, no doubt, and that would explain this being “the most emotional” firing ever.
Or would it? Would she lose her cool? Or just threaten one and all with affirmative actions suits?
The loss today was embarassing. What was it, $800 to $13,000? That’s pathetic. But Kwame handled it well, explaining his reasoning, taking some of the blame instead of pointing fingers and making excuses like everyone else seems to do. Good choice bringing in Heidi and Omarosa, those two can’t handlee being together. Omarosa broke down crying over being selected for the boardroom, and it seems she went in before Trump wanted her. She’s still milking the plaster incident… and there she goes. Fired. I’m not surprised… the constant fighting between her and other team members (Heidi, especially) couldn’t go on too much longer without some consequences. Problem solved, I guess.
(If she had let them talk, Heidi-ho would have been gone. All it would have taken was for Amarosa to point out that she didn’t think that artist was a good idea AND she was the only one to sell a piece. That would have made Heidi the extra troublemaker.)
Very true, DrFidelius. IIRC, Trump complemented Omarosa on her opposition to Meghan’s art. But the second she barged into the boardroom, any sympathy Trump may have had for her disappeared. Horrible decision.
Looks like there’s going to be much celebration when the rest of the players learn she’s gone. Plus, The Wrath of Carolyn and more pissed off teams. I can’t wait.
Let me tell ya a little story about a man named Troy
A poor “Montaneer,” he was just a country boy
And then one day he went off to work for Trump
To prove that a hick doesn’t have to be a chump.
Next thing you know, Ol’ Troy is on TV
The kin folk said,That’s somethin’ for to see!’
He ain’t got formal schoolin’ but his chances it don’t hurt
'cause all the other players are dumber than dirt.
And man, do the prizes on this thing get suckier and suckier. Ten minutes with Trump, in which he apparently says nothing you couldn’t glean from his autobiography? Sheesh.
Great ep, though. There was a great moment where the freaky artist was explaining a piece in some totally bizarre way and they cut to Heidi with a “uh…OK…I’ll smile and nod now” look on her face. Priceless.
And man, Omarosa turned out to be the opposite of everything she claimed to be. We already knew she wasn’t a “trooper.” Now we know she can’t control her emotions. So much for the “strong black woman.”
And her taxicab confession was predictably glurge-filled. “Embrace diversity.” Man, I’m glad it was Kwame who pulled her into the boardroom – Lord knows what she’d be saying if a lighter skinned candidate did that.
Next week: who’s the moron stupid enough to cross Carolyn? I love Carolyn. I’m having a “What Would Carolyn Do?” bracelet made up for me to meditate on when I have to make business decisions.
Ass much as I dislike Assy and reveled in her firing (she was a total BEEYOTCH about the lunch thing) she wasn’t the reason her team lost this task. She was the only one who sold a painting and she opposed the choice of artist in the first place. Kwame was probably more responsible for his team taking it in the shorts the way it did, but at least he didn’t whine and carp in the boardroom. He just said he took a calculated risk and it didn’t payoff.
Assorama did everything wrong that she possibly could have. Trump clearly had no sympathy for her “concussion,” for her whining and definitely not for her barging in on him early. Even if Kwame fucked up on the choice of artist there was no way that the Donald was going to tolerate Assy’s histrionics for one more second. There is a lesson to be learned from this if he rest of them were paying attention. Kwame did not make excuses. Assy did nothing but. Assy is gone.
BTW, ten minutes alone with the Donald is a “prize?” That’s got to be the most egotistical reward I’ve ever heard of.
I’m so diggin’ this show. I didn’t catch what Heidi said on the way out of the boardroom though…it looked by Trumpy’s expression that it was a foot in mouth thing. Anyone catch that?
I’m trying to guess who’s going to piss off Carolyn next week. In the preview she’s telling someone “I’ve never seen anything from you” (or something like that) which I’m thinking would eliminate Troy and Heidi who have both undeniably contributed (plus Troy is just way too smart to cross Carolyn). Nick has been spotty but not totally worthless. I think Kwame is smart enough to stay out of Carolyn’s path. That leaves Bill, Katrina and Amy. Of those three, I’m guessing that Katrina is the one who is both stupid enough to annoy Katrina and worthless enough to earn the previewed slam. It’s also worth remembering that Carolyn did not particularly care for the “girlfriends” behavior last week.
I’m calling it now. Katrina will be the one who pisses off Carolyn. That doesn’t mean she’ll be fired, though, but I think her days are numbered anyway. I don’t think the Donald likes her much.
With the possible exception of Nick, I can’t see any of the guys getting in Carolyn’s face. It probably is Katrina but I could easily imagine Heidi throwing down with Carolyn.
The team-dividing helicopter ride and “charity is its own reward” prizes weren’t too great either. Looking through the NBC.com episode summaries, I realize just how much I miss Sam. Horrible contestant, but he was very fun to watch.
Omarosa’s farewell speech in the taxi sounded like it had been prepared in advance. I wonder how much “real” time they have between the firing and getting in the cab.
I don’t get up early enough in the a.m. to watch the fired ones on the Today show. Do the hosts play nice with them, or do they tell it like it is? The last three, especially, have been in denial about what happened. Can’t learn from that.
I’m tempted to set my alarm for Omarosa tomorrow, but I don’t know if I could stand any more of her martyr act, without someone (besides Heidi and Trump) telling her it’s not working.
But that’s not true at all; she didn’t oppose OR support the choice. She first said she didn’t like the art and then said she liked the artists’s (alleged) average price. She never actually said one way or the other who she wanted to pick. Her violent opposition to Meghan’s art surfaced for the first time in the boardroom, that we saw, anyway.
I wouldn’t hire her to be dogcatcher. If you can’t get along with people you’re worthless in any job involving any more personal contact than lighthouse keeper.
I gotta agree with DrFidelius I just don’t see a man ripping into Carolyn. It’s either the brash Heidi, or snotty Katrina.
So who do you guys think is going to win the position that the Donald has at the end of this show?
this is my order of people.
Troy : he’s been doing some great work and knows his weaknesses. I’d love to see him win.
Nick: after the ten minutes “prize” he moved up the ladder.
Amy: even though she was knocked for being picked she’s still a threat.
Bill: not really in contention, as the other three, but ahead of the rest.
Kwame: he knows how to handle himself, however he’s not making impact statements with his performance.
Heidi: has some sort of weird connection with the Donald, might squeek in a win with strong finish.
Katrina: no chance in hell she would win, unless of course it’s about sex appeal.
I don’t want to sound like a sexist, but I don’t really think any of the remaining women have a great chance of winning. None of them seem to be impressing me and I don’t think the Donald is impressed with any of them either. The man show better interpersonal skills, managing skills and the rest of the stuff needed to be a president. I don’t really want anyone to win but Troy. He’s the man, even though he performed poorly in today’s art selling challenge.
and finally, I must say this. I’m totally Burnett’s bitch. I’m hooked on Survivor and now Apprentice. I hope his boxing reality series he’s planning with Stallone fails so I can get over the fact that I’m watching everything this guy produces.
What boggles my mind about the whole thing is that Troy was as deserving of being in the boardroom as Assorama, if not moreso, this task. But he got an out, while the person who told them to pick the other artist, and the only one of them to manage to sell a piece, got put in the hotseat. AND TRUMP NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT IT. Last week, Ereka got the boot for giving her buddy an out when she deserved to be in the boardroom. This week, Kwame gives his buddy an out when he deserved to be in the boardroom, and nobody says boo about it. What’s up that?
Incidentally, I’d be willing to bet that this line of thought was running through old Assorama’s head. That sort of blatant hypocrisy and unfairness would probably be enough to drive a lot of people into losing it, especially the sort of person who tends to cry when they get really angry.
Much as I dislike Assorama as an employee, a potential boss, and as a human being, I do have to say that I admire the way she took her firing like a woman. None of the whimpering and sniveling and begging we’ve seen from the other female firees. No angry disbelief, no arguing, just matter-of-fact acceptance and a polite and sincere thanks for the opportunity. That takes some guts, right there. Of course, I think she knew she was gone as soon as Trump yelled at her that she hadn’t been called for yet, so she’d had more time to accept it than most of the others, but still.
As for who pisses Carolyn off next week, I’m going with either Heidi or Kuntrina. Trump’s already called Heidi on driving other people nuts. (That’s what she said at the end, “I’ll try not to drive anyone else crazy.”) But Heidi does occasionally get off her duff and do some work. Kuntrina…she doesn’t contribute shit that I can see, and she’s obnoxious and pissy on top of it.
