AppTrap

Has anyone experienced AppTrap for mac?
I know you can do all that stuff manually, but I don’t care. I’m old and lazy, and I’d like to uninstall my unused apps the easy way. And this one seems to be pretty thorough, according to cnet.
Does it work as advertised? Would this be a good thing to do before I move stuff from my old iMac to my new one (27").
Thanks.

What’s the point?

You slay me, beowulff.

I’m also too lazy to clean up after my apps manually, though I use AppCleaner instead of AppTrap; I’ve never had any problems with it and it always does the job. I’ve tried a few different freeware uninstallers and this was the fastest and cleanest. I run it under Snow Leopard, and it works under Leopard and Tiger as well.

Whether or not it is worth fully cleaning apps off of your old machine depends on what you’re doing with it. If you’re going to sell it or completely repurpose it, it might be easier to just wipe it and start over with a clean install of its OS.

Sorry I couldn’t tell you anything about the app you’re actually looking at!

I am newly a leaf of overturning.
I can no longer abide messiness. Really.

25 years of computer consulting has lead me to the following conclusion: People who are OCD about “cleaning” their computer invariably remove something critical / important to them / or irreplaceable. Really. With 1TB drives as the norm these days, you are much better off just trashing to obvious space hogs (music and video), and leaving everything else alone.

Clean install gets rid of a lot of messiness

I’m not OCD, I’m passionate.
