Actually, I have it on good authority that Lincoln is buried in Grants tomb.
There has been lots of speculation that Abraham Lincoln was the first female president. This installment of Real True History looks into the possibility.
We do know that Abraham Lincoln was the coincidence king (or queen as it were). Edwin Booth was one of the most famous actors back in the day. He happened to be touring New Jersey (possibly scouting out locations for a reality theater show). As he was about to board a crowded train, the train moved causing a helpless man to fall between the platform and the train itself. Edwin Booth had starred in several action roles before so he did just like he was trained not realizing this was the real deal about to go down. He grabbed the man by the back of the shirt and yanked him up saving him. A shaken up Robert Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln, thanked Edwin profusely for saving his life. Edwin Booth would still be remembered for this act of heroism and still be the most famous person with the Booth last name if his brother John Wilkes Booth didn’t decide to be such a dick a few months later.
The OP joined the board in April 2010. And possibly failed in his attempt to start the first self-titled thread of April 2011 by misspelling his own username and waiting until mid-May to post.
Given my recent problems in starting threads in the wrong forums, it was kind of nice to read this. It’s like watching the show Cops to make yourself feel better about your lot in life.
My father and his father were both born in April. Admittedly not at the same time, but still, that simply cannot be coincidence.
Of that’s not a coincidence. I have always wondered about fertility cycles being heavily influenced by the family. Almost everyone in my family has a summer birthday going back many generations myself and my daughters included. I come from a long line of schoolteachers. Weird? No, the sperm and eggs just know when not to interfere with lifestyles or at least that is my half-baked idea. Did your family work in farming or another seasonal industry by chance.
This thread has a chance of being the longest in the history of this board if we can branch out enough.
No one has mentioned U.S. tax day as April 15th yet.
My grandfather, who was a trained architect, owned and operated a profitable hardware store in Hollywood, California along with his brother, while my father worked in radio. However, my grandfather – born 1876, I kid you not (he was in his 50s when he had my father) – was the first to leave the farm in upstate New York. Or his generation was. They had been farmers in the Albany area all the way back to the Dutch days. I was not born in April, but I was born in the same month as my mother (also not at the same time).
As for tax day, I did mention the Ides of April. ![]()
I was born.
Changed thread title from “Jimbob2929” to “April.”
Now he won’t be able to find it again. ![]()
And now it’s next week, so he will be hunting desperately.
April Fool’s day is in April. Usually.
I have it on good authority that April showers bring May flowers.
