I accept the terms of the auction set out by NAF, including any amendments resulting from discussions with the moderator and/or other players.

In fact, we can get the auction prelims over with now. The only thing that chrisk and I are working out are the mechanics of the auction itself, and that point is moot if not everyone agrees to have the auction.

NAF OFFER AUTION: This offer must be accepted officially by every player or it is void. I will auction off all my items in exchange for 50% of the total value of every players final score.

This is non negotiable.

The auction will consist of every item in my inventory, excluding the rules I own and one 50 cent piece which will serve as insurance against everyone crippling themselves with negative scores in the auction.

The auction will be a silent auction and bidding will consist of points against your own final score. I will not be collecting anything from the auction save for the entrance fee state above in blue. You may each place a single bid for each item you wish to win. You may only send Chrisk one PM containing the bid for each item you wish to bid on. The items are

5 Dimes
2 Fifty Cents
4 Nickels
2 Pennys
1 Quarter
1 Silver Dollar
1 Toonie

Each item will be auctioned off individually (so you bid on all five dime separately not on the lot of five), any item not purchased will be retained by me with the agreement that after the auction concludes I will no longer participate in any trades. My game is over as of the end of the auction.

Chrisk and I still need to finalize the run time of the auction, but I was thinking it would conclude 12 hours before the end of trading. We are also working out how to deal with tie bids and some other details, but I think we have all that solved, Chrisk just hasn’t confirmed that the last pm I sent him is legal yet (though I suspect that he will since it is mostly a rephrasing of his interpretation of one of my earlier ideas).

By the way, assume that the whole post after NAF offer Auction is in blue. I just ended the blue bit early because on preview it made it hard to read.

I win either way, my score right now is roughly double the next closest persons. This way the playing field is leveled and the pieces are redistributed and the game isn’t over right now.

Well, I think JSG was being a cool guy about Rule 16. He knew only he and I have seen it or had it, and he knows how important it is.

I was actually glad he “dropped” it instead of handing it over. I was tempted to ask for it myself; in fact, I will.

It should be obvious what I’m after; learning all the rules before the game is over.This requires knowledge of Rule 7, and my researches tell me that it was a deal Sinjin struck with you that contained a clause that she not reveal the rule.

What consideration would you want from me in order to rescind that clause on the deal with Sinjin? I’d rather you did not ask for my remaining penny, as I suspect that any future deal for a sight of rule 7 will involve that penny.

Let’s focus on Rule 16 first and if we can’t work that out, we can try to deal with this.

Yes, I have. Two deals.

As at 1201 I had the following.MHaye
Holds rules: 1, 11, 12, 15
Has seen rules: 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17
And holds these coins: 2 Dimes, 2 Nickels, 2 PennysSince then, I have agreed to pay Sinjin one penny for a sight of Rule 6, and agreed to accept NAFs auction terms in exchange for possession of his Rule 3. I have followed through on my side of that bargain.

So my holdings will be, once Chrisk has validated and processed all deals :Holds rules: 1, (3) 11, 12, 15
Has seen rules: 2, 4, 5, (6) 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17
And holds these coins: 2 Dimes, 2 Nickels, 1 PennyThis means that to complete my rule collection I require only 7 and 16. JSG isn’t trading 16, and Sinjin isn’t trading 7 because of a deal she struck with you.

So that’s my current status, as I understand it.

Your assistance in reaching my goal will be appreciated.

No, it’s a reverse silent auction. You place bids against your final score. No value change goes to anyone.

Lets say you want another penny. You bid points that essentially go to the house. If you bid 5 points and win then the house takes 5 points off your score at the end of the game. So the idea is to bid as little as possible, absolutely bid less than the item is worth, but still bid more than the other people who might want the item.

So if you feel that a penny is worth 100 points to you, but you think everyone else thinks it is only worth 3 points, a bid of 5 points would win you the auction and gain you 95 points at the end of the game.

Yeah, I am trying to do that. I am trying to redistribute some of the wealth that JSG took out of the game also because I don’t think it was a fair play for him to make.

I misspoke. It was a totally fair play, just not a sporting play. Sort of like Justin Credible just dropping out of the game.

Go for the auction if you like. I think it’s the best deal for the people who think that they are behind right now. You have nothing to lose. I figure that the people who are further ahead will be harder sells, but that isn’t up to me. I put it out there so at least I feel like my conscience is clear about taking JSG’s offer, I tried to redistribute the items. If the group isn’t into it, it’s no skin off my nose.
