That does introduce an element of risk for him, though, because if he doesn’t get enough for the items he auctions off, someone who does NOT participate in the auction could overtake him. :slight_smile:

The way things stand, the auction doesn’t happen unless everybody agrees to the 50% buy-in, bid or no bid.

Ok, first. The auction requires that everyone vote yes because then no one is actually giving up anything. If everyone chucks away 50% then the playing field stays level for everyone. You say you don’t want to give away 50% of anything, but you aren’t actually giving anything up if everyone agrees. All you are doing is halving the value of each item and bonus. I can see not wanting to have the auction for other reasons, but saying it’s because of the 50% thing fails to think the issue through.

I will consider releasing JSG from the requirement. If you guys want to make the case to chrisk that phi is absent, that’s on you.

Second, you don’t bid your points to me or anyone. They are bid against your own final score. The auction lasts until damn near the end of the game, so if you want to figure out the rule set before you bid, trade away and figure it out.

Which, This is the End Game, I think we all know what a substantial part of the rules do to the other substantial part of the rules.

I would advise that players get as many rules before the auction.

Rules make Haggle what Haggle is. The Items are just a vehicle for the rules.
