April Foolishness Haggle. [Game in progress]

Sinjin: Trust me when I tell you, you have no clue on how to value your items.

How can that be fun for you?

Sinjin : You don’t have to admit to this:

But, if we didnt already know that NAF was the untouchable winner, would you have given Digger his fifth quarter?

Because of Chrisk’s shitty rule set this time, you forced me to make a decision that SHOULD NEVER be in a Haggle game.

Hmm… by my count there’s 6 rules that actually make a difference in scoring. Seven if you want to count the choice. And a pack of mixed in lies. Yeah, starting with the right ones is a bit of an advantage but it is hard to trust the information in this game.

A false rule set might have been more effective if it was larger and everyone was told up front that 50% of the rules were lies. It would change the nature of play quite a bit.

As for Nuking, I don’t think you’re going to be able to cash in on despair.

And Now, Im faced with looking at JSG.

The strange bedfellows that these be.

JSG : I Don’t blame you. Chris Dropped the ball here.

JSG:

I Told Rule 8 in public to stop Digger from getting a 5th quarter. It came as a blow to me, just as much as you.

If Rule 8 was out and known by all, it would have stopped Digger from EVER getting a 5th.
This is how I won the last Haggle game.

Back when I respected Haggle.

Do you understand why I HAD to act when I did, how I did, JSG?

Digger:

Knowing what you know now, would you ever, EVER have given up rule 17?

Now, seeing as how you have your rule 17 locked, Phi not being here locks up the second copy.

Thats yet ANOTHER issue.

So Meeko, what to get off the angsty high horse and play?

sinjin #1009 to Meeko: a look at my rule 6 for one of your valueless pennies

Sinjin, I’m Sorry, i’m playing Haggle over here. I don’t know what you are playing.

Meeko please note you have no room to castigate me after posting this:

See ya on the flip-flop hon.

Don’t play it that way. You have done nothing at all but lead me on this game.

Giving me 60 seconds to respond is beside the point, you could have never offered me the deal.

Phi2Dao:

Are you playing or not?

I Want to make offers to you.

GOOD information offers.

sinjin - I show that you’ve already seen 8. Was that in error?

If chrisk was doing his job, we wouldn’t have to keep on asking about Phi.

chrisk should learn from this mistake of inactive players for the next time he plays haggle.

Oh wait, my bad, He told us he had.

Chrisk : Sinjin told me on no certain terms she is no longer playing for second place. As such, no rules can contain her.

She went through the motions with me, all the while giving Digger what was mentioned in 8.

It is hard to play Haggle.

Harder still when people blow up the game, and are sneaky about it.

What is the latest on the NAF auction, chris?

[thundering Hagglemaster voice]
Meeko, THAT IS ENOUGH!
[/thv]

I’ve made my mistakes, and recognized a few of them, but harping on them or trying fixes on the fly doesn’t seem that wise either. This game is as it is, and at this point I’m just trying to play it out as best I can and learn from the mistakes. You ranting and raving over every page of the thread lately DOES NOT HELP.

Regarding phi - I have put in a clear PM asking him to clarify whether he/she wishes to be active in play or not, and have been conducting regular searches for any other posting activity. That’s all I can do for now, and I expressed my reasons for not wanting to do anything more drastic OVER THE WEEKEND!

As far as the 60 second rule - it’s probably not going to change as long as we’re playing on the SDMB. If people want to have another game somewhere else that might be something worth looking into.

In the meantime - if you want to edit a post SOLELY for the purpose of adding extra information within the 60 second limit, I wouldn’t object, and trust everyone here that far.
And now, your update.

Chrisk, sorry about that. Unlike some players I have not memorized the rules and their numbers. Meeko seemed to be indicating that he was going to show me a rule I had not seen. In true Meeko style he offered three deals in a row. When he offered a free look at a rule I took it immediately because he so frequently makes an offer then rescinds it.

He is now in a bit of the grumps because I turned the tables on him.

That’s quite alright. I understand about it being hard to keep track sometimes.

And apologies to all if I’ve been less vigilant than expected about keeping up with this thread. Been fighting some persistent headaches for the past few days.

Sinjin :

In terms of the deals I have made to you, was there a deal you wanted?

I never turned the clock on, and forced you to look at it, all the while taking a incredibly bad offer.

Meeko, I made it clear I was in the market for pennies. You offered me other stuff for my pennies. And to make it worse, instead of making me a legitimate offer you, yourself, tried to cut me out of the penny market. So, no, you never offered me anything I wanted. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
