Are any of you shut-ins?

I haven’t ever met any shut-ins because there aren’t any in my immediate family. However, the idea of closing off one’s life to the outside world has a certain appeal to it (see my island thread in general questions). What is it like? What do you do with your day? How do you manage to live without working?

I would LOVE to be a shut in! I’m serious. If I never had to leave my house, I wouldn’t feel like I was missing a thing.

You know what? Sometimes I feel like I’m a shut in. I don’t see how anyone could stand it personally.

Thousands of people get to live a shut-in life at government expense, believe it or not. It’s called “prison.”

Some people are shut-ins because of a mental or physical disability. If they receive a disability check each month, that would take care of the not working problem.
