Some brief googling found a subculture called “Kokujo” – which is apparently asian women that go for black guys.
OTOH several of the links were about black servicemen, and the soldier status seems to be a lot of the appeal.
Regular black guys seem to find it tougher.
I included you in the request because you wrote something that Siam Sam immediately backed you up on, like it’s a commonly known occurrence. And I also didn’t want to exclude you in case you really did have knowledge of a link. But okay, I withdraw the request from you, and just direct it only to Siam Sam, (or even to anyone else?).
And FWIW it’s a sincere request. If Japanese women are clamoring over black men, I’d genuinely like to know where I can find more info/details about that.

I know I’m definitely going to Japan based on what I’ve heard about the attitude toward white guys held by the women there. I’ve had more than one person tell me that they more or less fetishize facial hair, too. Native Japanese women definitely have a thing for foreigners. There’s even a comic that someone on this board linked me to satirizing how losers from the US (typically English teachers) become studs in Japan (I’m sure someone will remember the name of it and link you to it). I plan on [del]exploiting[/del] [del]abusing[/del] investigating that for myself.

However, please continue with your misplaced outrage - it’s fairly amusing.
The name of the comic is called Charisma Man. It’s actually a bit haunting and sad, at the heart of it. It’s not just that the white nerds go there to be superheroes, but it’s also that they seem to be deluding themselves about their superhero status, even there. For instance, the beautiful, tall, slim Asian women they have falling all over them are actually usually just dumpy, short, women to the outside observer. And other such sad/funny touches.

ACM, it is a bit more layered than that, usually. Charisma man really does seem to have ‘super powers’ but they are just…relative. For instance, those powers disappear whenever an American white woman comes around. It’s interesting.
This was in the press in the mid-1990s. Quite a while back, so there may or may not be a link to find. I can’t go hunting for one now, but I am not mistaken. Quite a few little Japanese cuties running around, and black seemed to be their flavor of the day. Unfortunately, many of the black “tourists” in Bangkok are not UCLA students on gap year, but rather West African gangsters, and there were a couple of ugly incidents. Here and elsewhere. I distinctly recall the Japanese government’s press release. It may not hold true anymore, the girls’ preference, dunno, as these sorts of fads come and go. For instance, among Thai ladies, Korean men are getting the most attention now, Japanese men having lost their No-1 spot of a few years ago.
Timed out. I should add also that back then, the Japanese – male and female – were new to the international backpacking scene. I saw a lot of really cute young Japanese girls on Khao San Road. Since it was such a new phenomenon for them, they didn’t seem to have quite the same street smarts as their Western counterparts. With the passage of years, that’s probably changed by now.

The Black race is more “masculine”, while East Asians are more “feminine”; it has to do with hormone levels.
This this is the reason why, when it comes to interracial dating, Black men and Asian women are seen as more sexually attractive, while Black women and Asian men get pushed to the wayside.
There is also a tendency for females to be attracted to men with darker features, while males generally prefer lighter skinned sexual mates. This may likely have to do with the fact that males tend to have a slightly darker tone of skin than females, and this holds true across all racial groups.
One Dutch man’s observations that Dutch women seem to prefer foreigners over native white men:

However, although I am not sexually attracted to them, I think the typical dark-skinned woman is more attractive than the typical light-skinned woman. This is especially true the older we get, since light-skinned women are more likely to have skin damage from sunlight, visible age spots, splotchy and wrinkled faces.
That sounds like just stock “looking for the exotic” stuff going on, though. Blonde women in the Middle East and Asia talk about getting tons of male attention as well.

White guy here, I don’t really find black women attractive at all, though to be fair I think the majority of black women also don’t find white men attractive, so I think it goes both ways. That said I am attracted to women with a darker complexion, like Latina and Mediterranean women are usually my ideal and my wife is Hispanic, and has what I would call an olive complexion.
