hmm, I’m curious that some of you are blaming the religiosity of America and Turkey as on the surface they are two of the most secular countries on the planet (except maybe China).
They are two nations in which the separation between Church and State is clearly defined, compared to say Britain which has Bishops in its Upper Chamber or Germany where both the main parties have Christian in their names.
Okay. Say I’m walking down the street, and a meteorite comes down and knocks me flat. I can trace the cause of this event back to the beginning of the solar system, with perturbation by planets etc. I’d be hard pressed to find a reason for it. What would you call the reason? Was some deity angry at me, or perhaps me getting zapped has some reprecussion later.
I’m curious how you’d equate reason and cause in an example like this.
