I can’t find the post now but in the election running commentary thread a few people indicated that the GOP expected to win all round despite Democrat optimism which was based on polls. I always expected that true Trumpers would insist they would win through. But the GOP’s less loony (but still detestable) wing - the McConnells and Grahams - I always assumed were bracing for a drubbing, and must be relieved that they were spared while Trump was not.
