The Detroit News is reporting that Lions president Matt Millan has fired head coach Marty Morningweg, and that the leading candidate to replace him is former SF coach Steve Mariucci.

But now I’ve just heard from another source (that I can’t link to) that Mariucci isn’t the one. It figures.

I think this goes in Cafe Society.

I am torn about the decision to get rid of Marty. They told him they’d give him 3 years and they didn’t.

At the same time, he took an average to bad team and made them terrible.
