I’ve never heard of one. Even people who are good directors or actors usually produce a bad movie or two.
Is there anyone that actually demands both quality and sales, and not just sales?

While high earners aren’t his balliwack, and sure, you could saw ‘um’ or “never heard of it” about a handful of movies he’s been involved with, in general, as a producer, Scott Rudin is the fuckin’ MAN. After his double-threat whammy with No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood, I now look for his name on a picture, the way I would Charlie Kaufman, or a specific director like the Coens or Paul Thomas Anderson. Look at all those movies he’s produced and all the ones coming up! He must be one helluva busy guy.
Anyone else?
This is a bit un-quantifiable, isn’t it? A good Producer is someone who keeps the production on track and under budget. They don’t strictly have any control over the finished product, that’s supposed to be the Director’s job.
An Executive Producer will sometimes have some additional control over content, though.
They don’t always stay away from controlling the product. They also read the scripts and hire the directors. The can ensure a good product by knowing what screenplays to produce and which directors to hire.
