Are there any products or brands to which you are absolutely loyal?

People keep bringing up Mach 3 razors. I’m a Sensor Excel user myself (to the limited extent that I shave at all) and the blade refills lately have been including one Sensor-compatible triple-blade cartridge per pack. They seem to give a marginally closer shave the first time but I only get about two mornings out of them before they’re too dull to use. Are the Mach 3 blades any different from the 3-blade samples included in Sensor refills?

Head & Shoulders shampoo - I don’t really have problem with dandruff anymore (I don’t really have a problem with hair anymore), but it does a good job of keeping the remaining hair clean and shiny.

English Leather deoderant - Mrs. Bookkeeper loves the scent.

Diet Coke - I don’t really like most other soft drinks as they taste too sweet (PC fruit flavors are the exception - they are generally rather tart).

PC brand stuff (President’s Choice - the Loblaws grocery chain premium store brand, but also sold by other outlets) - pretty much always excellent quality, with a great variety of ordinary, unusual, and even exotic food offerings.

Purr cat food - it’s cheaper than anything else I’ve seen, the cats love it, it has almost no additives, and none of the cats are allergic to it (see no additives).

I love New Balance sneakers. I wear a size 13 EE or 14 E. You cannot find those sizes in any brand but New Balance and Saucony. Rank discrimination, I tell you!

Kiwi Shoe polish

Elixer of Life[sup]TM[/sup] Also known as Coca-Cola Classic. I’m not an addict. Addict is far too mild a word for what I am.

Oh, AHunter, I don’t know how durable those blades you’ve been getting as samples might be, but my Mach III are very durable, and I’ve got a beard that wears out blades faster than anyone else I’ve met. I can get a couple of uses out of a Mach III blade, even if I’ve got a week or two without shaving, where normal blades usually just die halfway through the job when I’ve got a face full of fuzz. YMMV, of course, but I have found 'em very durable.

[li]K-Swiss tennis shoes (for actual playing, they’re durable, and improve with age)[/li][li]Toyota vehicles[/li][li]Kraft Mac-n-Cheese[/li][li]Mitchum gel anti-perspirant/deo…no pit-outs, keeps dry (and I am a sweaty individual)[/li][li]Diet Coke[/li][/ul]

Wow…upon reading further, I don’t stand out very much.

I’ll bet that the Reader coudl make a pretty penny selling this list to ACNielsen or someone similar.

Thought of a couple more (sports-related)

The only brand loyalty I have is to Q-tips.

Probably no ABSOLUTE loyalty, but some things come pretty close . . .

Automobiles: Volvo - preferably, at this point, the 240 series wagon or newer (but not the 740)

“Beer” -
(1) Belgian Ales - Trappist (Chimay, Rochefort, plus, I believe, another four - generally from $4-7 per 11 oz. bottle), various Lambics, Rodenbach (3 varieties), and Liefman's - Belgian Ales are certainly expensive, but IMO very much worth the extra
(2) Guinness when I don’t want to spend the extra $ - but, for some reason, only the “old” stuff in bottles, not the “draught” or whatever that is . . .
(3) I am slowly but surely working on trying the beers/ales put out by Unibroue of Canada - have not had much at all, so don’t have a “real” opinion at this time

Stereo Speakers: certain manufacturers based in Eastern Massachusetts, assuming that they still make them approximately “like they used to” - bear in mind that I have not bought speakers (except for the computer speakers said to be made by Cambridge Soundworks) in probably about 10-13 years - I lean towards Cambridge Soundworks and Snell Acoustics (do they still make those?) - I have had AR and Boston Acoustics in the past . . .

Cat Litter: Cat’s Pride (made by the same people who make Oil-Dri) or WalMart’s store brand when I can’t get Car’s Pride (which I get for $.20 per pound - it is also “eminently flushable”)

Amaretto Liqeuer (or whatever that fancy-schmancy spelling is) - NOT “Amaretto di Saronno” but instead, “Lazzaroni” . . .

Computer Keyboard - Microsoft’s “Natural Keyboard Elite” - nice shape, no “media buttons” or “Internet buttons” - some keyboards are so loaded with features I wonder why they don’t just make them with built-in microwave ovens . . .

Breakfast Cereal - Wheetabix or various things with the name “Grapenuts” affixed

Fiction Author: Philip K. Dick - I don’t have much time to read fiction, so when I do, I specialize - and I was reading him before his recent popularity - speaking of which - the idea of Steven Spielberg doing a film (“Minority Report”) based on a Philip K. Dick story is absured - Spielberg is not even remotely close to being in Dick’s league as an “artist”

Cola - used to be Coca Cola, but then I discovered that caffeine is not a good thing for me to ingest - now I go for REGULAR (not diet) Caffeine-free Pepsi - the only problem is that I don’t see it in many stores, usually only the diet version is available - and I do not like any sort of diet Pepsi

Soy Sauce - Wei-Chuan “light” or “reduced sodium” or “whatever” soy sauce (not “lite” - “lite” is not even a word) - tastes good and has exceptionally low sodium content

Favorite Cheese - Stilton

Computer application for playing MP3s or CDs - Winamp - I really don’t like Windows Media Player for some reason - it does not SEEM to sound as good, among other things.

Cassette Deck - Nakamichi - Yes, I still listen to cassettes

Phonograph - Thorens - Yes, I still listen to LP records

Dog - not absolutely loyal but very close - American Eskimo - very loyal, loving, and cheerful and cute

Writing Guide: Chicago Manual of Style

Dictionary: The Oxford English (Complete)

“Children’s” animated cartoon - SpongeBob Squarepants

Web Browser: Mozilla Firefox

EMail Client: Calypso and Mozilla Thunderbird (is “Eudora” actually popular, and why?)

Paper Towels: Brawny white in the 3-pack - though I like the original Brawny guy better than that doofus they have now . . .

I am another Tampax devotee. It’s not the type of product I feel like experimenting with so I will always buy the first one that ever worked for me. I’m pretty much flexible about every other product in my life.

Best Foods mayonnaise

Tom’s of Maine toothpase. Fennel is my favorite. “Regular” toothpastes taste sickeningly sweet in comparison

Tom’s of Maine deodorant

Arm & Hammer laundry detergent

Toshiba laptops. now on my 4th. I have only ever replaced them when I wanted a new one.

I don’t know about that. My neice Ashley just got one. (She turns 18 in a couple of weeks.)

Rockport shoes
LeSeur tiny peas (in the cans; I only buy them when I can get them on sale because they’re so damned expensive)
Schick Intuition Razon
Duke’s mayonnaise
Dreamfield’s low-carb pasta (all other low-carb pastas taste like ass).
