Are there dog biscuits that's...

as good as dinner? My little boy loves his Milk Bones but he ignores his food in the dish. I feed him 4-5 star dog foods but he’d rather wait for the biscuits.

Even when I cut back on his biscuits he’ll wait. His dish will go untouched for days.

At least he gets a good breakfast, a begging strip of bacon.

And my little boy is a dog so don’t call me a bad parent.

I feed my picky eater Stella & Chewy’s freeze dried food. It comes in a round shaped patty similar to a biscuit.

Whoa… creeped me out until I reread the whole OP.
We only give our dogs Milk Bones when we put them to bed, never during the day. I think they’ve figured out when they get what.
Although we’ve NEVER given them people food, but that doesn’t stop them from watching us intently while we fix or serve it … waiting for us to forget about our ten-year rule.

My little guy is actually funny about his milkbones. He eats one at night for a bedtime snack, but during the day he will let them sit sometime or carry them around in his mouth. Just yesterday, my daughter had gotten him one and it sat on the floor. I got home from work a couple hours later and he climbed up on my lap with the milkbone and ate it. We usually give him one during the day and one at bedtime. We did find in the pet store homemade biscuits, shaped like bones. The one he tried was baked with peanut butter. He really enjoyed it and it was great for his digestion, we got a few and will give him one for Christmas . All of that said though, imo, I don’t think biscuits are a good idea for meal replacement, dogs need their protein. Would he eat his dinner if you broke a milkbone up in it? We place a little 2 calorie treat in our guy’s meals. Usually it motivates him, sometimes he just eats the treat. I would check with the vet.

You don’t say what this 4-5 star food actually is, but if it’s just kibble that’s not very appetizing. My approach has always been to compromise between the benefits of kibble and making it appealing by using it as a base for something like a warm beef stew or chopped-up and warmed pieces of chicken, beef, or pork mixed in. The dog gets the recommended balance of nutrients from the kibble and the attraction of wholesome real foods. It’s been my standard procedure for years.

I feed him Pure Balance and another I forgot what but they have no corn meal in it as the main ingredient.
