Are there mattresses made for more than two people?

What if three or more people are living together in some kind of polyamorous relationship - is there a company that makes gigantic mattresses larger than king-size so that all three can sleep together in one bed and be comfortable? Or do they just have to put two regular mattresses together?

I stayed at The Empire in Brunei where the beds were large enough for three. Muslim country, you see…

King-size is large enough to sleep three comfortably, in my experience. (Unless the person in the middle needs to get up in the middle of the night, but that’s not a problem that would be solved by a still larger mattress.)

Hell, I’ve done 4.

Either the mattress industry has some serious field testing going on, or there’s some slight stealth bragging going on in this thread…

My king-size mattress can accommodate 2 humans (one of whom is 6’10"), 2 dogs and 2 cats. We’re not always all in bed together, but when we are there’s plenty of room.

When I first encountered King and Queen beds, the mnemotechnic I used was that “Queen” beds are supposed to have room for Queen and King, while “King” are for three: King, Queen and The Other Woman. I’ve slept 6-to-a-King, although no sex was had.

A King will sleep three comfortably if they are of average size, four if everyone is slim. If anyone is significantly larger than the average bear then cuddling will become a necessity. While they may not like it, just like the backseat of a car, the smallest person in the middle is the best solution all around. I’ve slept both three and four to a king comfortably, post fun time. A California king is a bit bigger I believe, and I know that someone makes those big circular mattresses that are even bigger though they aren’t cheap.

Here you go: Try UltraKing

futons on the floor can mate easily with each other. foam pads can be laid over the top to give a smooth ride.

also with futons on the floor.

people in the middle (extra nice place) can exit off the end without disturbing others during their sleep. being on the floor makes this easy, your bed is stable and doesn’t shift under you which is a plus.

Ha…the Extreme UltraKing is 10’ x 12’! That’s the size of a bedroom~!

Oops, missed the edit window…

The pricing of the mattresses are “on request” but they published the price of the linens…

That literally is the size of the bedroom I am currently in.

Talk about wall to wall bed

Damn I want that. I might have to knock out a wall.

“Concubine” sized.

The next step up is the “Harem.”

you would need to knock out doorways to get it in or take out the exterior wall of the room it goes into.

I don’t think that’s any sort of industry standard. Most places I’ve lived have local mattress companies that can make up a custom mattress any size you want. I’d recommend being careful about how you’re going to get it into the house, though. I know people who had problems bringing a king-size mattress upstairs.

What about the bed bugs?

This has nothing to do with anything but I felt the need to contribute the obligatory bed bug reference to anything remotely related to them, in order to contribute to the mass hysteria sweeping the nation

Does it matter? The Op asked if anyone makes them.

Oh yeah, the top of the line model is about 35k  with all the carvings and pillars. Though i have to say, if I was going to invest such money in a bed, it had better be properly inhabited frequently by numerous young ladies who fancy having a go with me.
