Are there small, ordinary, daily things that make you happy for a little while?

I can easily get off the bus right by the store I work at, but I take it further into the bus terminal in the next town. I then can walk back, stop at the library and get on-line if I have the time (and check out the cheap books to buy and the new ones to check out) and then walk over the bridge across the river to the store. When I told a co-worker I do this most days I work, her mouth just fell open. Fresh air, exercise, a great view, time alone–who can beat that?

My cat dragging her string around. This morning it was in the bedroom, which meant she brought it up from downstairs.
Seeing my horse’s face and hearing her whicker, knowing she’s getting treats.
Getting into bed every night.

When a good song comes on my car stereo, and I’m not stuck in traffic.
When I do my makeup well, and it comes out the way I’d envisioned it looking.
When a coworker stops by my desk, not to talk about work but just to chat about non-work stuff.
