Are wool caps now a new fashion statement?

I dunno if this belongs in GQ, 'cause it probably has a factual answer, or maybe CAFE 'cause it is related to fashion, or what, but I’m gonna ask here and ask for forgiveness if I’m wrong.

Last night I was at a bar and there was a guy with a blue wool cap pulled down low so that you couldn’t see his ears or his eyebrows. At first I thought that maybe he was undergoing Chemo and had lost his hair, but he had a goat-tee and I figure if you lose your hair, you lose it all. But maybe not. It was very hot in the bar, so I can’t imagine he was needing it for warmth.

Is this a new fashion trend? He was lookin’ kinda silly to me, but hey, I don’t know much about fashion…

Khadaji, you have glimpsed the latest expensive tempory fashion statement; specialized hair workers dye the hair and braid it into yarns, which they knit to make it look like a wool hat.

No, not really.

This seems to be a double post. Mods, will you close this one?

Rats. I invested my time and meager wit, I even checked the spelling on the OP’s name, and now they’re gonna close it. Grrr.
