I am not. Two months and 300 posts into my doperhood and I have never posted in the Pit.
Have any of you neglected the Pit as have I? Or am I just plain weird?

Hey, I’ve never posted to the comment on Cecil’s columns and comment on the mailbag columns. I think that makes me weird considering that’s kinda what the SDMB is all about. As for the pit, I love it. I wish more people ranted down there. Sometimes it’s fun watching others get pissed off.
BTW, I have a sneeking feeling that something in particular will not be to my liking this week. Watch for my upcoming rant soon.
We had a few who ignored the pit (or at least posting in it), but at least one person found themeselves there anyway when a spouse logged on with their name, and another where a thread got randy and was moved to the pit after they had posted. So it’s not an easy feat to stay out forever.
Good luck to you though I was dragged there on my first day (by someone who is no longer posting), and it tied me up for a week. If “invited”, don’t go.
I’ve never posted in the Pit. In fact, I rarely post anywhere but MPSIMS. Guess I’m just a mundane, pointless sort of person. I’ve only looked into the pit a couple times, and then only when directed by thread – I’ve never clicked on the forum on the main page. I don’t understand the concept of being ‘dragged’ to the pit.
I’m with Danalan. Post predominantly to MPSIMS, a couple of IMHO. If I have anything in the Pit it was probably moved in from outside.
I imagine that by being “dragged to” tshirts is referring to those rare occasions when someone opens a pit thread dedicated to trash your digital persona. I guess that will very likely drag most people to the dark confines of the pit in order to defend themselves. Human Psychology 101.
When I started in here (seems like centuries ago), I was basically a GD or GQ poster. Then I went through the MPSIMS/IMHO stage and now I am reverting back to GQ while keeping my eyes on the movie threads. In any case I think it will be healthy to get into some pit action, just for the sake of it. Unfortunately, I don’t feel very confrontational right now, but if any of you were so kind as to drag me into a pit brawl I will be eternaly grateful.

I don’t think I posted in the pit until I was ~600 posts. It has just never appealed to me. I go in every once in a while to see if there’s something interesting. Other than that, I go if someone refers me to a specific thread, but rarely post.
Yes, I post in the pit, though I think I’ve only started one thread there. I laugh at a lot of the stuff that’s there, too.
