I am clean as new fallen snow there is no BBQ pit in my top categories
Mostly, probably. It’s the only place where it’s possible to tell someone they’re being a fucktard right there where it’s needed. The rest of the board is like trying to housebreak a puppy by randomly saying “No, naughty!” once every few days while stepping in shit piles and pee puddles all over the house.
I read the bbq pit often. I don’t post nearly as often. I’m not sure how to tell my ranking though since my profile only shows 1 topic in the pit but I know over several threads I’ve posted in recently.
I post in the pit more than I thought. Cafe is by far my #1 then MPSIMS, The Pit, IMHO & The Game Room. I’ve started very few threads there. Only one in the last 10 years in fact.
No, duh, because I do post elsewhere. I just prefer the Pit because so many posts are so annoying (due to arcane rules, inconsistent moderation and a full spate of trolls and rules lawyers) but you can’t just respond like a normal person because reasons.
Also, if you had read my post accurately, you would have understood that the infrequent “No, naughty!” method is ineffective and stupid and is not the way to get the desired effect, which is training the dog to piss and shit outdoors rather than in the house. There’s a metaphor there, were you to spend a bit of time sussing it out.
I read the Pit sometimes and I think I’ve posted in there twice. If I want to diss someone, I just get together with my neighbors who pit others with a passion.
I think it’s highly variable - if there’s something contentious, I might be more in the Pit than elsewhere, or I might be more in GD or IMHO or CS or GQ. It’s highly dependent on the current threads, but I certainly don’t avoid it, and yet still feel clean as new-fallen powder.
A distant sixth. I’m an occasional poster in Trolls Are Us, and that’s pretty much it. Plus from time to time there’s a thread that catches my eye. Oh, and it was the location of one of my favourite threads of all time:
The Pit is not in my profile list at all, and I don’t think I have ever posted there. I do occasionally read a thread or two there, but I am not a fan of the vitriol and bad language that predominates in the BBQPit. It reminds me too much of Junior High School.
