Are you a shoe person or a barefooter?

Barefooter at home, and when I find a pair of comfortable shoes, I wear them until they are literally falling apart.

When I get home from anywhere, the first thing I have to do is remove my shoes (well, unless I have to go to the bathroom first). I can’t stand wearing anything on my feet when I’m in the house; they start feeling hot and confined. And yeah, I also like the feel of grass under my feet.

Barefoot, definitely. If I’m home, I’m barefoot. I only have shoes on when it’s ABSOLUTELY necessary.

I hate shoes and kick them off any time I can. Even at work.

Shoes (preferably clogs or sandals) outdoors, but socks or barefoot inside.
Main reasons I do not go barefoot outside is to avoid stepping on something that hurts (rocks/sticks), and to avoid bringing dirt into the house. The latter reason is and comfort are why I take my shoes off inside.

Wow…lots of us BareFooters in here!

I am definitely anti-footwear. If I could i would never wear aonther pair. At work, polished dress shoes daily, anywhere else Birkenstock sandles, even in the winter.

tsfr

I have no idea how many pairs of shoes I actually own. In the house I wear a very comfortable pair of sandals that have a sneaker sole and two velcro flaps much like a slipper. I don’t like walking on bare floors and walking barefoot outside in Florida is suicidal. Still, I prefer sandals to most closed shoes.

Viva la barefoot!!! Viva la barefoot!

I’m totally a barefoot kind of guy. I love my flip flops when I do have to go places that require shoes.

Off to IMHO.

I’m a barefooter in warm weather as much as possible. If I’m not barefoot, I’m in sandals. I own a pair of nice shoes for dressing up, a pair of sandals for warm weather, a pair of sneakers for everything else.

Like the OP, I’m a barefooter. I will only wear shoes when I have to go somewhere away from home. Just outside doesn’t count. When I do wear shoes I stick with flipflops or sandals until it’s too cold for anything else.

SO is just the opposite. As soon as he gets out of bed, on go the shoes and socks. After his shower, on they go again. He says he absolutely cannot stand for his bare feet to touch the linoleum floor in the kitchen. Says it makes him feel all slippery.

I too love shoes and have maybe 40 pairs. But I also love barefeet and hate, hate, hate socks! The first thing I do when I go home is take off socks. I take off socks at other people’s houses too. Is that rude?

Do people really wear shoes in their house? Aren’t the floors always filthy? I saw an episode of Sex and the City when Carrie was asked to take off her shoes before a party. I know that they were Manolos but, I really did not see what the big deal was.

I almost always have shoes on outside. If not I wash my feet when I come inside (stupid white carpet!)

Inside the shoes come off. I hate stepping on crumbs on the kitchen floor though, so that has to stay really clean.

Another barefooter here, although I’m dating a guy who wears 2 pairs of socks. I’ll even slip my shoes off while riding somewhere as a passenger. As a result, several road trips have ended with a cry of “Hang on a minute! I have to find my shoes!”

Barefooter indoors, but always wear shoes outside.

I’m having to wear shoes in my apartment now, though, because I broke one of my toes about a week ago, and shoes keep the toe from bending (which hurts). It’s weird- I really can’t understand why anyone would wear shoes indoors if they didn’t have to.

I challenge myself during the summer to see if I can go entire weekends without wearing shoes. I am often successful.

Niehter. I wear shoes outside, it’s appropriate and matches my clothing style (I do have some nice pair of shoes). As soon as I’m inside my or anybody else’s house, I immediatly take the shoes off. It’s not only relaxing, it’s the custom here and it makes perfect sense.

If I’m not wearing shoes, I’m likely wearing socks.

I go barefoot at home, and in the spring/summer I love to wear sandals whenever I can, but I have no problem wearing shoes (even dress shoes) when the outfit/occasion calls for them. In fact, I probably could have worn sandals today but I’m wearing my Merrells instead … they’ve become my favorite casual shoes.

Three guesses.
I only actually own three pairs, though; the jackboots, a pair of NPS steel-toed dress shoes, and some shower sandals for around the house. I used to own a pair of Skechers, but after two pairs disintegrated on me after only a year each, I sprung for the NPSes. I like them a lot so far.

I’m usually barefoot indoors, though. It’s an Asian thing.
I love to go barefoot but unfortunately I now have plantar fasciitis and wear shoes all the time so that my arches can be supported all the time. I used to love skating around in my socks on my big, linoleum floor playing soccer with my cats, but it’s too hard on the feet now. :frowning:
