Are You Addicted to Anything?

chapstick

Movies and TV shows
Caffeine
Chocolate
The internet

Most of the time I’m watching TV shows on the internet while eating chocolate with coffee.

Pepsi One.
The internet.
My wife’s butt.

Pepsi Max and hanging out with people.

But the library wants them back.

I’m another addicted to books. I don’t feel comfortable unless I have a stack of books with a wide variety of genres waiting on me. And I keep buying more even when my stack is quite sufficient to last me for months.

Diet Pepsi. And it’s not pretty.

Caffeine. Craving my second cup of java as I type.

Just caffeine. Well, that and meth.

Quit smoking about a year ago.

Right now: Clusterz.

It’s old, but I come back to it every once in a while.

Can’t make it past %$#@ level 30

Oh yes, Books are a definite problem. I quit smoking cigs about 20 years ago with little trouble. These days, as soon as I realize I’m getting low on books I feel that dreadful anxiety verging on panic - which feels exactly like realizing it’s after midnight and the stores are closed and you have one…more…cig.

Only now it’s books or magazines (NY’er, The Week, Goormay [r.i.p.]). I had to spend a lot of time visiting a family member in the hospital lately and almost flipped out the first day, all they had in the waiting room was something like *American Philatelist *and that worthless rag the hospital puts out. I thought I was going to die.

Oh and chapstick.

I have an addictive personality. I am addicted to the internet, porn, fast women, cocaine, crank, speed, the need for speed, meth, alcohol, gambling, nicotine, thrill-seeking, sex, money, power, writing, and beef jerky just to keep the list short. Many of those things aren’t actually something that I am really addicted to or ever tried but I am pretty sure I could learn given the right circumstances.

The internet. Even when I’m away from my computer, I always have my iPhone with me. You never know when you might have to look up some obscure phrase (like “rantum scoot”) or figure out who the actor was who played some part in some movie.

World of Warcraft. Yes, I reluctantly admit I’m addicted. I play every day, it’s my default free time activity, and I have skipped many real world social events in order to stay home and raid.

M&M’s. Loved them ever since I was a kid. I’ll probably always love them. The plain milk chocolate and dark chocolate varieties.

Diet Pepsi. Aside from water it’s pretty much all I ever drink. Diet Coke is okay too, but DP is better.

Books. I have many, many of them, and I buy new ones fairly often. I really need to organize the ones I haven’t read yet in one place so I can get to them systematically.

Cats. I don’t think I’d be happy without at least one cat in my life.

Sure! I played around with this recipe. It really comes down to what tastes best to you. I prefer the diet lemon-lime sodas, but you can use the regular ones. I also bought sugar-free syrup from online instead of the regular cherry syrup. If you don’t want to use the sugar-free syrup, I’d suggest getting the cherry syrup that you use to make snow cones.

A friend of mine has been making her own since I made one for her. She didn’t want to have to keep buying the syrup so she made her own sugar-free syrup by using Crystal Light Cherry mix. I haven’t tried it yet since I still have syrup that I’ve bought, but it works great for her.

She takes the packet of mix that you usually mix with two quarts of water and instead mixes it with only three cups.

Another vote for Chapstick too. Or rather, any lip balm.

Diet Coke, but I’ve been on the wagon since last Saturday. Someone hold me! sob

Booze, blackjack, cayenne pepper.

edited: Forgot one! Tabasco and Srirarcha. I’d say 60% of my dinner meals involves one of those ingredients. Currently simmering red beans and rice for the sole purpose of complimenting Tabasco.

I think I adore the taste of the rice and as I slowly chew into the fish and rice, the resulting mixture…hmmmm…

Literally an addiction - coffee. I’m tired & grumpy if I don’t get it. I now have it (relatively) under control - no more than 4 cups a day - usually only 2.

The internet.
Olives.

Both the last 2 I’m alright if I don’t start - but once I start I can’t stop!
