Top of the list for has to be caffeine. It’s so bad that if I don’t have a coke, a cup of coffee, or some chocolate within an hour of getting up, I get migraines. Then there’s my more serious morphine addiction. I haven’t taken any in 8 years, but I also know that it’ll only take one time to get me back on the stuff.
A non-physical addiction of mine would be reading. I read while I’m on the john, while I’m sitting at the computer, while I’m watching tv. I even read while I eat, either with a book propped open beside my plate, or an ebook on the computer screen.
The only thing I can honestly say I’m addicted to is caffeine. I only drink one or two cups a day but if I go without, I get headaches.
I’m sort of addicted to french fries, maybe, in that once I start eating them I can’t stop till they’re all gone, even if I’m full. But I can easily go weeks without eating fries and it doesn’t bug me. I’m a binge-eater of fries, I guess.
There are lots of other things I love, but none of them cause physical symptoms or completely irresistible cravings if I’m going without for a while.
I put that I’m addicted to pornography but I don’t know that I actually am. On some days I’ll check out porn several times and sometimes I’ll go a week without watching it. I don’t have a problem with missing it for whatever reason (road trips, etc).
I’m definitely addicted to the internet. No question about that at all.
And I put other as well: Gaming.
Used to be addicted to caffeine. Don’t drink caffeinated drinks anymore.
Meth* is listed twice. Surprised pot, video games, and shopping isn’t in there isn’t in there.**
*perhaps a mod can change one to marijuana since no one’s voted on either yet?
**none of which I’m addicted to… But I’ve had my moments with weed and games back in the day.
I’m addicted to pointing out spelling errors. I try and try and try to stop, but it never works. Then I make a stupid error of my own far worse than the one I am allegedly correcting, like putting too many vowels in the word vowel, and am humiliated before all & sundry as if I were no more than a Welshman.
