The latest I ever shoveled snow was here in my home state, Wisconsin. May 10 1990 saw over 6 inches of heavy, wet snow fall on us.
This year I last shoveled 2 days ago, expect I will maybe have to do so again.

In SE MN we had two recent snow events - after the first one, there was about an inch on my driveway – i didn’t bother to shovel. The second there was snow followed by rain, so there was maybe 2" by morning – but due to the amount of snow that happened before the rain there was a pretty big pile (6"?) at the end of my driveway – I did clear that.

Early in March I biked to work as it was 65+F in the afternoon…
And it is currently snowing fairly heavily. It is mostly melting on the roads/sidewalks, so at this point it doesn’t look like I will need to shovel but we will see.

Southern Alberta here. Tonight’s weather forecast said we can expect about four days of snow starting Wednesday night (April 3). It may come as a rain/snow mix, or just as snow, and it will most likely melt when it hits the ground, but I’ll keep the snow brush in the car anyway.
Getting anything shovel-able tonight, Doc? It looks like my parents, up in Green Bay, are expecting 8" or more.
Our forecast here on the lake, was for 0-8 inches possible snow. We got zero snow, but instead got about 2 inches of rain. A lot came down as snow but melted as soon as it hit the ground.
Nope, but just a bit of slush really.
I thought we were but we just got 20 cm (8") here in Montreal. But the temperature was hovering just above freezing over night and 6-8 degrees above in the day, so it is soft slushy and melting fast.
We got a foot of snow yesterday in a storm that knocked the power out for 30 hours. Fml
We got some bits of snow and sleet coming down; but none of it stayed around long enough to notice. Forecast for the next week is significantly warmer. I think I may be wild and reckless and conclude that I am, indeed, done shovelling snow for the year. I might even move the snow shovel from the back hall back out to the lower barn.

(I can always move it back in if the weather forecast says I ought to --)
Just ran the gas out of my blower. I think it has been over 70 both today and yesterday. If it snows tomorrow, I’ll shovel! ![]()
(There was too much in there. I shoulda tried to siphon it.)
My Wife and I have pretty much given up for the year. It happens this time of year. There is NO where to put snow anyway. The tractor bucket/lift is rated for half a ton, but only goes to 6 feet high. It just falls back on you. The piles of snow are higher than that. And it’s so deep, ya can’t just push through it. The snow is where it’s gonna be.
The plow truck goes, “Ummm. no”
If I break it up with the tractor and get air to it, it will melt faster. That’s where I am. ‘Spring’ can be kinda depressing. We WILL be getting more snow for sure.
Was on tractor today trying to make room for my plow truck to put snow. About 2 hours.
It get’s to a point where the tractor can’t handle it, nor the truck.
Weather info says we should get 20 more inches by Tuesday 11/16.
And that won’t the the last of it.
More snow coming in Saskatchewan. Moist air coming up from the States, cold air coming down from the north.
Grey, windy, rain that can’t decide if it’s snow.
Ordinary spring day in Saskatchewan.
Oh, it’s very definitely snow up here.
I came home and turned on the Christmas lights. They look nice during a snowfall. ![]()

Back when I posted this, I was pretty sure we were done (not that we had much at all this year).
Then we travelled to New York for the eclipse. 3 days after a late-season snowfall, that dumped more snow at our destination than the AirBNB hosts expected…
To be fair, we did almost no shovelling; they got someone out early the next morning with a snowblower, and my husband did a little cleanup with the flimsy plastic snow shovel he’d tossed into the car.
We did get to do a little snowshoeing… if you can count walking through 8 inches of snow, down a steep and unlit driveway, with regular street shoes. Brrrrrr.
The snow was completely gone 24 hours later.
My neighbour has done the same during late season snowfalls. They do look nice!
I think we’re okay now. Daily temps are above 0C, but in the low single digits. Still, the ground has warmed up enough that any snow that falls will melt immediately.
I thought that too, on Wednesday when the snow on solid surfaces was all melting. But yesterday it started sticking, and there’s a substantial blanket everywhere now. A heavy, wet blanket.
