I got mine on Sunday. Thanks to the OP for posting this. I had it in the back of my head to get it, but this thread made me think I really should get it before Rosh Hashanah services, when I’d be in a packed synagogue for several hours over two days (I should be on my way there now, but I’m going to be late, because I have to stop in the landlord’s office, and they don’t open until 9am) exposed to who knows what, and seeing a lot of people who do kiss-hellos.
You COULD try using a Saran Wrap head / body sheath to cut down on exposures. Just sayin’…
Yes I am getting mine next week. Not procrastinating. Usually get a mild flu response to it and I’ve a wedding to attend this weekend. Better to wait a week.

I’m so glad I get 0 reaction to it. If I take the ibuprofen before hand, not even soreness at the injection site. I might as well get a saline injection for all I react to it.
Pendgwen, I’m correct, am I not, that people who get a “cold symptoms” reaction to the shot are not contagious, right? If they feel lousy enought they could probably take a day off of work, but there’s no reason to stay home to protect other people, right?
Hadn’t had the flu since I was maybe 11 years old, then in spring 2013 my wife and I both got hit hard. I was off work for two whole weeks, woke up during several nights feeling like I was dying, and at one point coughed so long and hard that I ended up vomiting.
Wanted to get the flu shot in fall 2013/14/15, but each time we kept procrastinating until we were so close to departure for a vacation that we were concerned about possible side effects (neither of us had ever had the flu shot before and didn’t know what to expect).
This year we got our shit together in time and got vaccinated a couple of weeks ago. Very minor soreness in my arm, wife had slightly more soreness. For both of us, the discomfort was minor, far less than for the DPT shot.
In future years we will definitely make sure to get the shot soon enough.
