No. But I didn’t see a single child on any of the local streets last night anyway.
We ran out 15 minutes ago. Actually, we ran out about 25 minutes ago, but as we were packing up to go back inside some neighbors who don’t give out candy but restock people instead stopped by. We ran out of that candy 15 minutes ago.
Done, thank god. Lots fun, had about 200 or so, passed out all my treats. Yea! No leftovers!
No kids again this year. Anyone who wants a bowl of candy should drop by.
My neighborhood is very suburban, with elementary schools at either end, although we could use more sidewalks here. So I get some trick-or-treaters, and I enjoy it. You’re only young once; let them have fun…
I don’t think there were many houses on my block handing out candy though… and house next door was decorated but nobody was passing out candy, and i think that’s lame.
Well, it seems like a slow year this year. Still have a few hours to go though.
No… Noone comes to our townhouse to beg for candy. :<
Ledzepkid is doing most of the candy-handing-out this year. But, yeah, we gots lots and lots of candy and the little munchkins are getting more than their fair share.
This was my first Halloween in a neighborhood of about 150 houses. The next-door neighbors said they get about 50 trick-or-treaters, but I only had about half that many tonight. Kind of a shame, since I bought a lot of candy, expecting more people. The neighbor across the street turned his yard into a graveyard and had spooky music. I’m guessing a combination of the weekend snowstorm, cold weather, and it being a Monday kept the numbers down.
We had less than 30 kids this year, and I’ll have leftover candy to take to the office tomorrow, but I have fond memories of Trick or Treat when I was a kid, so I will continue to buy candy and pass it out. (of course, I get the kind I like so the leftovers won’t sit for months and go rancid in the pantry)
Everyone in the house was sick so we didn’t take our daughter out or give out candy. I turned on the light for half an hour and one kid came. But I was too exhausted and gave up giving out candy.
We got about 75 trick-or-treaters, which is significantly fewer than usual. But I blame it on it falling on a Monday night.
What’s up with this: Twice I had cars pull into my driveway, kids hope out, come get candy, then hop back into the car. Then they drove to the next house. Kids too lazy to walk or something?
Trick or Treaters are in short supply on my oil rig.
Mine is a yes, of course, but … .
. . . my son bought a pack of 75 glow sticks on lanyards to give away. I think he said he found them on woot. We had several parents say thanks for them and one of the neighbors came by asking if we were the ones giving out the glow sticks that the kids were having such a good time with. Seems you can spin the lanyard for light effects.
We also had backup candy in case no one wanted the sticks, but the boy guessed right with that one. I have congratulated him.
Not even one little Aqualad? That sucks.
Yes. The kids were either too lazy to walk, or there was some other reason. You have correctly analyzed the situation.
I had candy ready. Four kids came to the door soon after it got dark… and that was it for the evening.
I still have plenty of candy.
We had 2 kids come by ? Where did they all go?
We had huge groups of older kids this year which isn’t the norm for our area. I think we may have had a dozen or so kids under 10 and the rest were 12-16 and came in groups of at least four. Perhaps because it was a school night the younger kids did something earlier before I got home or went to the mall or something. I missed seeing the babies dressed up but the older kids looked like they put an effort into their blood and guts costumes.
I had a billion! The costumes were fabulous and everyone had their best manners on. Yay society!
