Are you happy with your username?

On another site where I post under the same name, someone complimented me on it and said they almost named their daughter Koeeoaddi., just .

I like my name and everything, but imagine a lifetime of KAY-OH-EE-EE-OH-AY … eh, why not just call me Ko?

beagledave, I, too, thought about changing mine when I had Trouble put down, but I didn’t. I decided the name had become more than just a reference to the cat.

I’ve always loved the sound of “Eleanor of Aquitaine”, but it’s a pretty goofy username. I would change it if I could think of anything to change it to.

Oh, no, please. I love it.

Perish the thought, milady.

I’ve been going by this handle since the BBS days of the early 1980s. I like it, so I’ve used it frequently. The only problem I have with it is that many people assume that I am male.

One neat thing about my username is that it sometimes leads to people calling me"Pinkie," which has been a nickname of mine since early childhood.

I’ve had this nick for years. It’s not budging. Which is good, because the nick before that one was born out of an angsty 13 year old’s brain. Lord, it was bad.

It’s about to the point where I practically answer to ‘Liz’ in RL.

Wow, thanks, **Anaamika **and gigi.

That’s a relief. It’s been hell trying to stalk you the last couple of years.

It’s been a while since I have read the HHGttG, and the movie really disappointed me. Especially my namesake, he’s a good actor, but he failed to capture the truly irreverent attitude that I think Ford has in the books.

Other than the occasional Ford Perfect* confusion, I am happy.

*Having purchased an '08 Ford Escape this past summer, I am not as bothered by that mistake any more.

I like mine okay, though apparently most people think I’m a dude. Don’t know if it’s the Eddie Murphy reference or the Wookie imagery or maybe the fact that it’s all in caps (which was not intentional, by the way.) Anyway the origin is Eddie Murphy’s SNL Buckwheat character, so it does suit me in that that is a favorite TV moment of mine. It’s only recently that I found out there’s a swingers’ club called Wookin’ pa nub, so I’d hate for people to think of that. Oh, and someone once said the name squicked them out. I certainly don’t want to be squicky :frowning:

I see your name and I instantly think of Katherine Hepburn. (Well you and Tracy Lord). I think she is the greatest actress of all time. So, I like thinking of Katherine Hepburn. I hope you leave your name be.

Really? I had thought you were about my age (41), male and straight. Huh.

I actually tried a lot harder to hide my identity way back when. And then I ended up with a real stalker who broadcast who I was everywhere, and I realized it didn’t really matter.

I don’t say anything online I don’t want to be associated with, and I don’t bother trying to hide who I am (not that I could anyway since I my name and jsgoddess are connected).

I like mine just fine.

I have to explain it a bit, but it’s relatively easy to have as a username all over the interwebs.

I can’t stand having to tack on numbers to a username (no offense, lemur866, I understand your pain).

I’ve only had my username a little tiny while, but I love it. I’m new though, and may become jaded with typing it in.

I had originally signed up about a month ago with the handle Kenghisghan (a spoonerism on Genghis Khan), then realized that there was a Genghis Bob. I contacted Tuba Diva and got my new username, which cracks me up everytime I look at it. -

My seven year old son had come to me with a long complicated tale about aliens attacking from the 3rd dimension, and I had to point out, gently, that we live in the third dimension. Of course, this didn’t faze him in the slightest. Aliens moved to 5th dimension and story proceeded, but I had found my new moniker.

I like mine. I gave it a test run on the Xbox Live crowd before joining here. Alas, the Xboxers are not in the same league as Dopers and after a few nights of being called ‘Pity Monkey’, I changed it there.

It’s gone over much better here.

I posted a picture of myself once in one of the Doper picture threads, and **Sampiro **complained because I didn’t look like Katharine Hepburn on a barge.

I said Katherine Hepburn, not Judy Garland.

I am straight, married with kids, 41-year-old male. I just like old movies and she is the actress I think is the best. If it helps, it is Audrey Hepburn that I think is the prettiest of all time. TCM is one of my favorite stations. Geez, can’t a straight guy like classic movies and classic movie stars.

That is funny.

Jim

I like my name. It’s an accurate descriptor of me, as I reflect things.
