Aretha Franklin's "Respect"...what does "T C P" mean?

In “Respect”, when Aretha sings,

“R-E-S-P-E-C-T,
Find out what it means to me,
R-E-S-P-E-C-T,
Take out T-C-P”

what does that last line mean? (At least it sounds like she’s saying that to me). So if we take out the TCP, we get ESPE

Pees? Seep? Huh???

I think it’s “TCB” not “TCP” which usually means “takin’ care of business”.

The song was written by Otis Redding -

Oh… and it’s “take care TCB” not “take out TCP”

You ever ask a question on Straight Dope and then realize the answer to your question could be found by a simple Google search?

I have. :wally

Besides, if you take “T”, “C”, and “P” out of “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”, you’re left with “R-E-S-E”, which you can use to spell “seer”, or “Rees”, or “Erse”, or “EERs”, but not “pees” or “sees”.
