Yes, but that was by Ed, acting in his capacity as an Administrator. My comments had nothing to do with whether or not AT was warned. It is your lack of insight that was so jaw-dropping. Two statements were just unthinkable:
Under different circumstances he is capable of deciding whether or not he wants to read a book. The mind of a thirteen year old who is “naive” is not ready to be exposed to pornography – especially when that pornography is suggested to him by a stranger in private email on the internet when that stranger is aware of his age. To make matters worse, the pornography involves a child.
There needs to be a little guidance in what is read – even the pornography. Somehow girlie magazines aren’t hidden from sight quite as much. Or the kid’s allowance covers the price. Parents turn a blind eye. That’s to be expected. Don’t assume that we are on some crusade against pornography.
For this particular book and this aged child, it should have. We are not talking about an adult.
Adolescent psychology and guidance were my specialty in grad school – for whatever that’s worth. And twenty years of teaching high school gave me a lot of exposure with the changes kids go through between 14 and 18. I’m talking about things that have nothing to do with intelligence.

I wonder that too (as have manny peoples), but one data point: in college when I took statistics the book was by authors Hogg and Ledolter, and we pronounced it “Hoag”.
