You’re not going to hate this pitting at all. In fact you might like it. In fact, your ego is having an orgasm right this second.
You might want be contrarian, as you are wont to be. You might want to choose to defend an unpopular stance, just to show that you know best. You may even ask a question that may seem absurd, but you will shoot down any detractors with glee, despite reasoning.
To cull your posts, order them, classify their nature, would be a task. I choose to not to try to bring your body of posts into this, because they are all evasive, inflammatory, or baiting.
I will surely be shat upon for not having a logical argument here, but I’m confident that my conclusion is sound. You ARE an ass. You know it as well as I do.
If you don’t have fun pissing people off, then start having fun doing it, because you’re already there.
Perhaps, there are a few people that feel the same way I do, perhaps not. Either way, we’ll see what happens. I’m prepared for a decent amount of negative feedback, but I don’t think you are.
Nothing bad ever happens to you, you never do anything wrong, every decision you make is the correct one, you live a life of perfection right? If your life is all that, sell your game plan for a million. Shit.
Well, it’s not that he can’t get annoying, I just don’t get the impression that he thinks his life is perfect or that he never does any wrong. I don’t even get the impression that he’s particularly conservative (In the social sense, not in the political). I think he’s a bit…militant. I have a million friends who’s conversations in real life are a lot like his posts. People are too voluntarily weak, guns are a net good, take the criminals outside and shoot 'em in the back of the head, that’ll teach people to toughen up, straighten up, and fly right! That sort of thing.
I don’t think it’s that simple, but I guess people who feel that way sorta have their hearts in the right place.
This is the twenty first century. We may not have jet packs or missions to far reaching planets, but what we do have is social tolerance. We are an enlightened world, where two people can find love regardless of their backgrounds. We tolerate gay couples, interracial couples, and other countless couples who fear that that their love will not be condoned by society. But what I am saying to you is that it will.
I’ll speak my mind on gun issues if someone else brings them up here. I do believe very strongly in gun rights. But I can’t remember the last time I actually started a gun-related thread.
My interest in guns was really mostly a phase, which began in early 2008 when I bought a used SKS rifle and started shooting for the first time since high school. I gradually amassed a collection of more guns over the course of that year and started becoming more vocal about the 2nd Amendment, joining the NRA, etc. My actual involvement with guns was a phase which peaked in the fall of that year and gradually declined afterwards. As of now, firearms are like #15 or so on the list of things I’m interested in. I will still stick up for the right to self-defense, when it comes up on this forum, and oppose legislation that I think undermines it. But it is far from my personal mission in life to be the next Chuck Heston.
I am not a guy who goes around trying to stir up trouble and rile people up. Over the past few days, the threads I’ve started have been:
**Dwarfs in the Dutch Army?
If someone made an extremely realistic cartoon of child porn, would it be legal?
The Fantastic Mr. Fox (animated film)
What can go wrong and cause an accident in a hot air balloon?
Do illegal immigrants have any ways of dealing with unfair employers?

This is hardly the posting record of the kind of rabble-rousing, “evasive” and “inflammatory” person the OP seems to be condemning. I will share my opinions in threads about controversial stuff that have been started by other people, and sometimes those opinions will be quite strong - though if in hindsight I feel that I have posted something too emotional or abrasive, I will generally admit it (as I did in the thread about the murdered policemen.) I also steer clear of personal attacks on other posters, because I think it’s pointless. There are posters here who I disagree with vehemently, like Diogenes the Cynic, and still think of as friends and treat with respect. I don’t believe in feuding with other people; I try to find some kind of common ground with everyone. There isn’t a person on this whole board who I can’t think of something good to say about.
Often I beat myself up (figuratively) for not reading this board more often in order to decrease or at least stop the spread of my personal ignorance. But the upside is that I don’t really know the inhabitants enough to have any preconceptions on how they are. Meaning I can take every post at face value and assume it has the best intentions.
Then I tried making a nonsensical observation into something slightly humorous and got labeled as a stupid, unfunny racist (which may or may not be true) because obviously, nobody knows me (sure, I have some prejudices but I’m a member of the Somalian, Assyrian and Palestinian culture organisations here and do volunteer work with refugees so ‘racist’ is probably a bit harsh).
I’ve figured out that Sam Stone is a classical smart, consistent conservative and that DtC likes to argue things to their logical extreme, but other than that I’m rather free of prejudice regarding other posters, which (I think) makes the board a better experience for me.
My point (which eluded me as well as you for the first three paragraphs) is that maybe sometimes people don’t always mean the worst of the possible options, and that giving people the benefit of the doubt isn’t necessarily the worst idea.
The OP is lame, but I understand his frustration. Argent always makes sure to sound so freakin’ cynical, he knows how the world really is, man. None of this candy-coated rainbow unicorns farting perfume like the rest of you guys. He’s hardcore, he knows all this shit. And he’s going to post goddamned quotes from Hogg in any single thread where the keywords in an OP tie to a keyword in Hogg, whether or not it actually relates at all.
