BTW, any reason the OP seems to be calling Argent out? Is there an implication that he saw the thread and decided to one-up Agent? This (two posters starting similar threads close together in time) isn’t that unusual of an occurrence, but I don’t think anyone’s been pitted over it before.
My take, based on him saying the similar name thing is no longer funny, is that he’s accusing **Towers **of using their similar names to mock him by starting a similar thread so shortly after his to try to take the attention away from his own.
Honestly, it doesn’t seem like much of a stretch to me.

I honestly thought it was a duplicate and didn’t even realize the threads were by two different people.
That might explain the disparity in responses. Don’t know why Agent’s thread didn’t take off but once Argent’s did, people stayed with it.
I SWEAR TO GOD this was an utter and complete coincidence. I swear I had not read the other microscope thread, I had not even seen its title in the list of threads. I know how absurd it seems, especially with the similar usernames, but this was honestly just a freak coincidence.

Let me just say again, after re-reading Agent Foxtrot’s post, how astonished I am at this coincidence. It’s especially bizarre that we both use the phrase “science types” in referring to other people here who might help us, although I didn’t use that in my original post but in the second one which was intended to “bump” it. Again, I swear, this was completely a freak coincidence. I know it’s really hard to believe, but it is.
I had not seen Agent Foxtrot’s OP before writing my own. Here is the process that went through my head and inspired me to post it: for some reason, I thought of the song Race for the Prize by the Flaming Lips, which is about scientists and has the line “under the microscope” in it. I don’t know why this song popped into my head, but it did. I started thinking about microscopes and about how I used to use them in school and thought they were really cool. I thought, hmm, it might be cool to have a microscope just to look at stuff. I went on eBay, looked for microscopes, saw all the different kinds of them at seemingly too-good-to-be-true prices, and then I posted my OP asking for advice.
Never did I see the other, extremely-similar thread. Not until today. I wouldn’t have noticed it if it hadn’t been locked (the little lock icon always catches my eye.) I thought, “hey, that’s a weird coincidence,” then I read the content of the OP and realized the poster’s name and thought, “man, that’s a really weird coincidence.”
But that is, alas, all it is - a coincidence.
I’ve joked about Agent Foxtrot’s name before and how I always see it and think that it’s me, but I never intended anything malicious.
Hmph. I would have believed it was just a coincidence, but now that you’ve come in and so vehemently denied it, taken such pains to show how original you were, I’m not so sure.
Maybe we’ve got a Gaslight situation here. Or one of those pod-people things.

I had to read the first half of the OP three times before I realized we were talking about two different people.
I only clicked the thread in the first place because I thought ** Argent Towers** was pitting himself which I know is against the rules.
Weird.
Do we need to suggest all of our suggestions again for Agent Foxtrot? If so:

I’m still looking forward to the day when Cat Fight will say something so egregious that I have to start a fight with her. 
I think we should all take a step back and offer Agent Foxtrot a group hug. Why? Because though I’m not trying to step on Ivn’s toes, I think it’s a safe prediction that this is going to get moved from the Pit – yet another slap in the face.
And then what?
Further meltdown.
Total chaos.
Lines will be crossed.
He will start alluding to conspiracies. He will start typing in all caps. He will continue until he gets banned … and then he will have fulfilled his ultimate destiny. He will have become: FORMERAGENT.
(Note to avoid unintended offense/confusion: This is a reference to a long-gone poster with yet another similarity in names. I suspect 3 people may recognize the reference, though none will find it particularly humorous.)
