Arisia – one of the three Boston-area science fiction conventions – meets at the Westin Waterfront hotel in Boston starting on Friday.

Pepper Mill and I have been going for many years, and we’ve been taking MilliCal since she was born. we’ve corrupted the poor kid – she thinks this is normal human behavior. But Pepper Mill and I met at a WorldCon*

Pepper Mill is co-running kid’s programming, and MilliCal has volunteered to run one of the large-scale activities. I’m on several panels. It ought to be interesting. Unfortunately, they scaled back on the readings, and I’m not doing any. Too bad – I had a follow-up to Beowulf I wanted to try out.

*so evidently it’s true what they say – fen go to cons to mate.

Of course it’s normal behavior for families to go together to events of interest to the parents. The details may vary, but this isn’t really fundamentally any different from a family going to a sporting event, or to an air show, or whatever.
