Arrest made in JonBenet Ramsey case

I don’t know that I can. I’ll have to wait for Hubby to get home to find out if any of the cases he has worked on have done this and have been publicized. It’s not usually something that law enforcement wants to publicize, as I understand.

Dropzone, he more than “touched the body”. He contaminated the evidence, RUINING the investigation. And he did it after finding the “hidden” body during his OWN, private, second search. All with a housefull of police, detectives, neighboors and family.

Yikes. He was all of eight years old at the time-they really thought he might be guilty?

dropzone-you mean bleach and amonia?

Think I’m that easy to fool? HAH!

Anyway, EVERYBODY knows mixing bleach and ammonia gives chlorine gas. [housekeeping tip that could kill you or yours] My favorite way to de-stinkify a drain is to pour both in, wait until the greenish mist starts wafting out, and run the cold water for a few minutes. Talk as folks will about earth critters that can live in all sorts of terrible environments, they ain’t found nothin’ that survives a chlorine atmosphere. [/housekeeping tip]

Okay, the following may be the dumbest post to grace these boards (despite many other such claims), but…

Do you really?

Yeah, I’ve done it a couple times, but not in front of my wife. She’d kill me faster than the fumes.

I have NEVER said I was smart or not self-destructive, but everything has its limits, even my stupidity.

I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say that Jon Ramsey’s actions “ruined” the investigation. Evidence is routinely gathered from bodies which have been through a lot more contaminating experiences than that-- bodies which have been exposed to the elements, transported from the scene of the crime, covered in garbage, etc.

Nor do I think it’s necessarily odd that the first search didn’t locate the body. They didn’t comb every nook and cranny because it appeared that they had a kidnapping on their hands. If the child had merely been reported missing, they probably would have searched the house more intensively, but all indications were that the child had been taken from the home. Likely, officers just poked their heads into the rooms to see if they saw a child or stranger lurking in the shadows and then moved on.

Secondly. I’d think it would sort of make sense for Jon Ramsey to look over his own house to see if he saw anything odd. He would be the one to notice if something was out of place, and could point it out to the officers.

In one of the links posted earlier, there were references to a “scream” from JonBenet. I don’t feel like scouring more links, so can someone tell me about this scream? Or direct me to a link that has a timeline? I thought the family woke up one morning and she was gone.

I do not know if Andrew Ramsey (John’s older son from his first marriage) was in the Ramsey house that night. I’ve tried to find out the answer to that, but haven’t stumbled upon it yet.

What I do know is that The Star tabloid ran articles accusing Burke Ramsey of murdering his sister. Burke Ramsey was 9 years old at the time of the murder. I’ve not seen mention of any allegations at Andrew Ramsey, which suggests to me he was probably spending Christmas with his mother and sister, and not his dad, because if the tabloids were willing to implicate a 9 year old then Andrew definitely would’ve been implicated at some point.

Just IMO I do not think the police would release a completely fictional autopsy report but I do think they would withhold certain details from the public autopsy report in some cases.

This is more fumbling from the Boulder police.

A police officer on the case asked Fleet White, a family friend of the Ramseys to take John and search the house for anyting suspicious :smack:.

That is how her body was found, because John was giving a once over on the house after being ordered to do so by police. I wonder to this day why a police officer wasn’t the one going over the entirety of the residence, both to preserve evidence that may be found and because it just seems like something that would be SOP.

It seems that my idea in the above post was correct, and the “details” of the confession were not true as given out by the Thai official. The chloroform was a canard after all.

Of course this still leaves the fact that his ex-wife is providing him with an alibi.

That’s fucking low, even for the tabs.

What I remember of the scream is that a neighbor reported hearing a scream the night the little girl was murdered. The Ramseys did not report hearing a scream. The Ramseys-are-Covering-Up camp pointed to this as a sign that they are lying, because surely they would have heard a scream in their own home if it could be heard all the way in a neighbor’s house. The Ramseys-are-Innocent side maintained that due to the way sound travels (or doesn’t) in the house, it is possible that a scream, especially if near a window, might not be heard in the parent’s bedroom, but could be heard by a neighbor.

Well now that you got me thinking about it, here’s a link :Boulder Daily Camera – Boulder, Colorado breaking news, sports, business, entertainment, real estate, jobs and classifieds

He wasn’t even in the state at the time, nor was his sister, John’s daughter from his previous marriage. Obviously, their alibis were checked by investigators, but it’s pretty difficult to fake being several states away, so they were cleared very early on.

As I recall from the time (and I’ll look for a cite), one of the most damning things WRT the Ramseys was that fresh snow had fallen in the night, yet until the police arrived there were no footprints leading either to or from the Ramsey home.

Sheesh! I thought there was something fishy with the “details” of Karr’s confession as revealed yesterday, but I theorized (correctly) that it was mis-information stemming from the Thai officials for some reason. Now, though? I almost expect that there will be a huge embarrassment forthcoming, if solid proof of the alibi Karr’s ex-wife and brother are offering is presented. ABC news exclusive: How John Mark Karr Was Caught They didn’t even look into his whereabouts thoroughly before pouncing on him and arresting him!

Thanks.

The article says the neighbor “woke with a start.” Maybe she dreamed the scream. I’ve done that; we’ve all done that.

Everything I read confuses me more. What a complicated case.

This has been covered. There was not snow cover around the entirety of the house.
