I’m not “in” the media, but I’ll certainly stand up for my ass-paddling if this suspect turns out to be the real thing and the parents don’t end up being implicated in any way, because I’m definitely one of those who believed they were somehow responsible and would never see justice for it.

I think the family needs an apology from the Boulder police, big time. The police started looking at the parents early in the case. Early on, not a big problem, you have to explore all possible avenues. But when they persisted down that avenue for weeks into months into years when there was really no convincing evidence suggesting it was the parents, that’s just bad police work. Worse yet, is the people in charge of the case became highly unreceptive to any other theories of the crime and dismissive of evidence which would support any other theories.
If this guy has killed/assaulted children since JonBenet, the Boulder police can thank themselves in good part for that, for failing to do their job. They developed a theory of the crime and then tried to find evidence to support it, instead of developing a theory BASED on the evidence they had found.

The Ramseys were cleared, months ago, by the discovery of DNA from a stranger on their daughter’s clothing. It was not similar in any way to the DNA of any member of the Ramsey family.

The confession caught my attention, but these days I regard that news with suspicion. Like I’ve said before, news is almost indistinguishable from entertainment. Maybe he did it, maybe he wants the attention.
Hell, maybe he wants to cop a plea in the US instead of face a Thai court.
According to reports, they’ve been tracking this guy for months and he’s been on a list of potential suspects from the beginning.
Plus, he apparently knows some details which have never been made public. I really don’t think they’d fly the guy back from Thailand and tip off the Ramseys months in advance if it was only some guy trying to confess as a ploy to get transferred back to the US.
Look, if I tie you up and leave you in the middle of Anacostia, does what I did make the robbers who steal your money while you’re tied up any less culpable? Of course not!

Og knows that the proper punishment for parents who are guilty of poor taste when dressing their children is to have said children brutally murdered then being publicly tarred and feathered, having their life ruined and live under a cloud of suspicion for years.
