Art interpretation time!

This has been bugging me for three years now, and while I doubt you guys can answer the mystery, I’m hoping you might at least give some interesting answers.

The mystery is, what in the world is this supposed to be? It’s an inuit statue, I know that much, but what it’s a statue of I have no idea, and the same goes for everyone I know.

I’ll let you guys know what it’s known as around campus later, but for now I’ll leave you guys to come up with your own ideas.

My first thought: hydrocele.

Severely mutated cock’n’balls?

It looks human to me. A human drinking something. Isn’t that an arm there? A human looking like a cock and balls…I dunno maybe it’s a fertility thing.

That’s what someone else thought to. It’s known around campus as the Penis Statue, which is short for The Six-Foot Tall Exploding Penis. Which of course makes for a really weird image when you see someone on top straddling it.

I was also thinking of the person angle, betenoir. It looks to me kinda like someone holding something. But the thing is so abstract it’s hard to tell what it’s supposed to be.

Jeez, I thought I had a dirty mind, but until I read everyone’s penis comments all I thought was “Venus figure”.

Do the Inuit have Venus figures?
