In the spirit of This Thread on Artists, I’ve got an idea. I’ve no idea how to execute this idea, but I leave that to the Web Maven Dopers out there.

If we can have a photo gallery of Dopers’ faces, can we have an Art Gallery of works created by Dopers? I for one would love to have a way to see some of the art created by various members worldwide.

Anyone have the bandwidth, time and inclination to mount a project like this? I’d do anything I could to help to coordinate it, I’m just clueless as to how the thing is ‘built’ and presented on the Web.

I think it’d be a great place for us all to go and enjoy works.

I’m familiar with her work, it’s spectacular. It was not my intent to compete, but to have a virtual gallery of ALL of our works under one roof.

I’ve written to the most terrific Euty regarding the idea, and hopefully we will have something to bring in the way of hard details soon. Keep the offers coming, the more the better !!!

Personally I’d say yes, writing is an art form ( witness some of my more beautiful posts :smiley: ) and so you should send in your writing.

Awww … I’m not that terrific.

But yes, let’s start this up. I’ll start a small section of Teemings Extras dedicated to this and we’ll see how it goes and what we might need to do as the idea gels a bit more. I think at this point I’d like to see it as just visual art. Text, I think, would be more appropriate to the main Teemings e-zine once we get started with that again, probably in another month or so.

Anyway, Euty, I’ll start going through my archives and seeing if I can pick out two or three pieces to submit (I won’t submit 'em all… there’s over a hundred, and that’s not even including my larger pieces).

Well I set up a web page (thanks Opal) at Teeming Millions (pretty rudamentary but here it is http://adarling.teemingmillions.com) and I’ve been wondering if there’s a directory somewhere so I can see what other people have done (artistic or otherwise)?

Anyway, it’s a great idea. Let me think what to send…
