Seriously, Brooke pwned Tom not that long ago, but this baby name choice has TomKat trumping Brooke. And to thrown in Gretchen, Apple is kinda a cute name- and Moses is kinda unusual but not at all loony.
Grier/Greer isn’t that weird. Ever heard of Greer Garson? (It was really her middle name.)
Kelsey Grammer has a daughter named Greer so it’s not even unique for a celebrity baby name.
Suri is a lovely name. It’s just in context it sounds a bit weird. Suri Cruise. If you say it fast enough, it sounds like a city in Mexico.
Or a wagon ride on water
I really hope that she has a lot of hair, because that will make it much more fun to call her Suri With the Fringe on Top.
Or an alpaca.
I like it, probably because that was my mother’s middle(Hebrew)name. It’s actually pronounced more like surrahthough(in Hebrew, I mean). Anyone know if there’s any Jewish lineage in either of their backgrounds? It seems a curious choice.
What’s the url for that crazy baby name site? Notwithoumyhandbag had a good listing, but there’s one that’s been linked before with a definitive list of every name, and how popular they are in any given year. (The SSN listing stops at the top 1000 names or so…)
Suri sounds too much like Souris which I believe means mouse in French.
Suri is actually a pretty name. Suri Cruise- sounds like a poet.
Greer Hammond Henchy, on the other hand, is rather unfortunate sounding. Not a name you want to cuddle up to.
There was a whole lot of Rosie Greer.
No, but I consider that desirable in a future supreme court justice.
I read in a news article that Suri means “pickpocket” in Japanese. :smack:
I thought it meant clam victory?
I like Grier far more than Suri. Grier is just classy. Suri is a wagon with the fringe on the top.
Not that my opinion means anything to either of them.
Here you go: NameVoyager
It also sounds like some conjugations of “to smile” (sourire), which is a prettier thought.
[EMAIL=http://surinetwork.org/]Suri is a kind of alpaca. It is like calling a kid Dromedary. Or poodle.
I think Bruce Willis is still the champion, with Tallulah Bell
