Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Episode 8 – Ashy Slashy
This show is definitely not afraid to kill off characters.
That was sooooo sad when they killed off Muppet Ash.
Yeah, I really felt for him.
I’m three episodes into season 2. This is the craziest show on television. I am so impressed how far they took Evil Dead on TV. It’s awesome.
Did anyone else watch the final episode? What a weird and unexpected ending.
Yeah, I didn’t love the finale. I read in AV Club that there was drama behind the scenes and the showrunner was replaced, or something like that.
That link doesn’t work for me.
Works for me.
That would have fuckin’ rocked.
Works for me now. Thanks!
That is very disappointing to hear, that ending sounds way way better. Also kinda kills any enthusiasm for next season.
Agreed. That finale sounds awesome. I felt the show slowed down a bit the second season, compared to the first one, which upped the ante every episode. This kinda puts a damper on my expectations going forward.
The big twist in the original ending doesn’t sit right with me, truth be told.
Me neither.
The “old ending” doesn’t appeal to me on the surface, but you never know, they could have made it better than it sounds.
The actual ending, just felt weird, I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and all we got was 80’s Ruby doing nothing when she was supposed to be doing even less, having been banished with Bill and the kids. Also, if they wiped the timeline, why does the town still remember? Ash and co, them still knowing, that’s okay, timey wimey wibbly wobbly, but the town?
I do wonder who found the book by the VW.
Yeah, that left me just kinda confused. How did they get back into the present? How does the town still remember Ash’s alleged murders, when they now never happened? How are the father and the others still dead, when the events leading to them dying never occurred? I mean, Pablo came back…
Watch now, think never.
The second season lived up to the first, for me.
I’d agree that the finale did feel a bit off compared to the rest of the season, though, and if the other producer was fighting against the colon monster, and they’re pulling in someone from Daredevil to lead, I’m not feeling too hopeful for season 3. (Daredevil was a decent show, but it’s nothing like Ash vs Evil Dead.) I suspect they just killed the show.
Usually, I don’t like the whole, “Everyone is actually a relative of everyone else”, sort of thing. But the idea that Kelly is Ash Jr. doesn’t bother me terribly, given how silly the show is, and it does explain why she’s able to survive the fights. (Pablo’s excuse is that he is a natural shaman.)
If season 3 does end up a dud, maybe Raimi will step in and bring DiGregorio back. There’s no indication that the show is slowing down at all, at the end of S2. So I’d rather see a season 4 run by DiGregorio than let the show die based on bad reviews of S3.
Of course, hopefully season 3 will be good despite the loss of DiGregorio.
The dad episode. Christ, the brain.
