This is no way to win friends. In fact, I’ve seen some people get downright indignant about being lied to here. Sometimes, even Pit threads will spiral out of situations like this. Just a friendly word of advice of which you might wish to take heed.
Eggo is the guy who decided to hitchhike across the United States. During that journey, when he had a chance, he’d stop by the boards and relay some of his experiences. Sadly, at some point during his journey, he was struck by a vehicle and had to have a leg amputated. When he posted about this event, he seemed pretty cheerful and upbeat, and said he had no regrets about anything. Shortly after that, he told the SDMB he had a possible book deal in the works concerning his treks. And then he disappeared from the boards. If you wanna read about this, try these threads:
