Ask the hamsterette!

 :o

Hahaha. That question’s funny. I like it.

I’ve had some people pronounce me cute or call me a cutie after seeing my picture… so is that good enough for you? Personally, I don’t know about my looks… they could definitely stand to be improved. (I’m not all about the swelled head and saying I’m very cute, you know…) So no… I wouldn’t say it was all an illusion.

F_X

So, ahem…

hem…

Achem!

Flamsterette_X, how YOU doin’?

[Southern belle impression]

Xavier, I’m doing perfectly fine, darling sweetheart. I’m very flattered with all this attention… my stars, a girl could die happy!

[/SBI]

Seriously though, I am doing very well, thanks. And how are you?

F_X

I believe I’ve asked this somewhere before, but I still haven’t gotten a definitive answer. I thought maybe you’d know. If not, just guess. I’ll never know the difference.

Which is more fattening: a pound of BK Whoppers or a pound of hummous?

Happy

Dear Flamsterette_X,

What is your opinion on the following?:
[li]aliens[/li][li]gnomes[/li][li]fairies[/li][li]gerbils[/li][li]Spozdogs[/li]
Happy Lendervedder, I don’t know, really. Although I have heard that certain “vegetarian” foods are in fact really fattening and not good for you (I don’t recall which foods those might be), I’m going to have to go with the pound of BK Whoppers as being more fattening. Heck, we all know how much fat there is in fast food, after all! (okay, maybe not the specific amount of fat grams and such, but you know what I mean)

lel, how did I know that you’d mention those things on this board?

a. Aliens? There could be aliens out there… we just never know. I hear that Vancouver is supposedly the number one city for alien abductions, though. Maybe it’s that leftover miasma from when the X-Files was being shot here for a few years. Or maybe people here are more likely to believe that they’ve had an encounter with the supernatural / paranormal, or are more “kooky.” Who knows.

b. Gnomes? Not sure I have an opinion on them one way or the other, really. (but I do love them) I don’t believe I’ve seen one in my life, but they do populate children’s tales quite a bit. Of course, they can also be used for harassment purposes.

c. Fairies? Ah yes, another creature ehich populates tales / myths quite a bit. I’ve never seen one myself that I know of, but I try to keep on their good side. There are good fairies and bad fairies… so you don’t want to unnecessarily anger them. I think fairies are all right in my books… you never know what they’ll do, though.

d. Gerbils? Hmm. Don’t remember that coming up in our discussions before, but there’s always a first time for everything. I hope never to have them in this apartment or at my brother’s! Never had them as pets… I expect my mom would have been completely gobsmacked if we’d said we wanted one as a pet. I think gerbils are all right, but I wouldn’t necessarily have one as a pet or otherwise.

e. Spozdogs? You know, it’s a weird coincidence that Happy Lendervedder mentioned hummus in his question to me. I wouldn’t eat them, and apparently neither would Spoz if he were totally sober. Doesn’t sound like the best combo ever invented, that’s for sure.

To forestall the obvious question (ie. “What are spozdogs?”), I’ll tell you. A spozdog is something Spoz invented one day at 4 AM when he was really drunk. He and a friend were at a crazy falafel shop in Adelaide when this happened… the guy behind the counter thought he’d ordered a gyro instead of a hot dog, and asked if he wanted hummus on it. Spoz thought the idea of hummus on a hot dog sounded appealing (hey, he was really drunk at the time!), and asked that there be melted cheese and BBQ sauce to go with it. Eventually, he convinced his friend to try this new creation, and the counter guy wanted to know what to call these things: spozdogs were born. He’s since told me that it’s flavor country… I’ll take his word on it.

F_X

Any other questions? I’ll try to answer any that come in.

F_X

Here’s one: I know you’re still sleeping as I type this, but when you get up, will you make me breakfast? I’m really hungry.

I want eggs and hashbrowns and pancakes and a bagle with cream cheese and toast and coffee and a glass of orange juice.

Thanks, kiddo! I’ll just sit here and wait.

This doesn’t have nearly as much innuendo or sexual questions as I had hoped upon opening it…

So Flamsterrette, what’s your favorite color? food? Song? Sport? Movie? Book? Outfit?

When you read threads, do you know a lot of the posters? I mean in the sense that you have a general idea of their interests, backgrounds, previous posts and threads (continue into more intimate and ultimately TMI detail)?

Here’s a question for you: Even if I did have all those ingredients handy, how the heck would I ship them to New York? Actually, I think you’d be better off going to your local White Spot or Ricky’s.

But wait! You want a free breakfast… all right… let’s see what’s here in my virtual kitchen. Since you never told me how you liked (for example) your eggs and toast, I get to indulge my wildest breakfast fantasies. (no, not THOSE kinds of fantasies, you pervs!)

rustles around in kitchen, and comes out some time later

Here ya go: eggs sunny side up, golden hashbrowns, pancakes with bananas inside them (hey, my mum used to make 'em that way when I was a kid!), chocolate chip bagel with Philadelphia cream cheese, a couple slices of whole-wheat toast, Hong Kong-style coffee (hey, it’s good!), and Tropicana orange juice.

Happy now? If not, remember… you never told me your food preferences, so I just went with what suited my fancy.

F_X

Bananas and chocolate chips aside, sounds great!

If you want innuendo or sexual content, go hie thee to the numerous other sex threads here on this forum… I’m sure you’ll find a lot there to satisfy your desires. I’m not sure this is the place to find any of that, really.

Now for your questiohs:

 1. Favorite color: blue / purple / black

 2. Favorite food: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, Pho noodles, etc.

 3. Favorite song: Matthew Good Band, “Indestructible” / Newsboys; “Million Pieces (Kissin’ Your Cares Goodbye)”

 4. Favorite sport: Don’t play many sports (it’s the CP and all, don’t ya know?), but I like watching hockey (GO CANUCKS!) and a bit of baseball.

 5. Favorite movie: Forrest Gump… that, or This is SPINAL TAP… go, crazy movies! hehehehe

 6. Favorite book: Since I really like reading… WAY too many books to list! But I like Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series… that reminds me, I really should reread The Fiery Cross one of these days.

Here’s a more general idea, though: humorous stuff, some (auto-)bios, Guinness World Records stuff (that TV show is cool), the Bathroom Readers, true crime, trivia, some fiction, comics, stuff about music… guess it depends on what I feel like reading!

 1. Favorite outfit: Comfy clothes! Y’know… like clothes that keep me warm! (T-shirts, long pants, cotton / wool things, sweaters…)

F_X

I wouldn’t say I know a LOT of the posters… but certainly some of them! Depends on the poster in question, I suppose. Generally… I have a vague-ish idea of what they’ve posted around on this forum, previous posts / threads, and maybe even some of their interests. However… I know nothing of that sort about yourself, TTT. Although I will say that sometimes I do know intimate / TMI details about certain posters.

Of course, IMing the people around here certinaly helps with knowing them fairly well. (not sure you can know everything about a person from IMs and forum pssts)

Here’s a list of the people of this thread (excluding myself, of course), roughly arranged by how much I know about them:

lel
BlackKnight
Akatsukami
Larry Mudd
Happy Lendervedder
scout1222
Skerri
Bosda Di’Chi of Tricor
Francesca
Anahita
Astroboy14
Cisco
Gorgon Heap
Xavier
Watermelon Man
maybelze05
Atrael
TTT

(I know almost nothing about the last five on the list… sorry!)

I hope that answers your question. If not, well… please make it clearer. Thanks!

F_X

And the badly mangled second paragraph in the post above was SUPPOSED to read:

“Of course, IMing the people around here certainly helps with knowing them fairly well. (not sure you can know everything about a person from IMs and forum posts)”

Dammit. :smack:

F_X

Well, banana pancakes and chocolate chip bagels always sounded pretty good to me… but hey, each to their own. I did forget the tabasco sauce for the eggs, but maybe next time I’ll remember!

How about just plain buttermilk pancakes with lots of syrup (whoops, forgot that and the butter too…) and poppyseed bagels instead? Or just plain bagels? I dunno…

Now you know why I do not cook that often… I’d end up forgetting half the minor essential things!

F_X

Just curious what you know about me!

Yes, I did a vanity search. What’s it to ya?

What does your name mean and how would one pronouce it?

Anahita, I may not know loads of stuff about you… but probably more than a random Doper… like the last 5 names on my list. But since you asked…

[ul]
[li]you used to live in France… but now live in Galway, Ireland (is it as romantic as I imagine it to be?)[/li][li]you’re on the UnaBoard, and on LJ[/li][li]you once gave me your version of advice in an LJ comments entry… which I did take to heart[/li][li]either your husband or your son is named John (not sure which)[/li][li]you were pregnant, but had amiscarriage (unless I’m misremembering)[/li][li]I think we’re neutral towards each other, though I could be wrong[/li][/ul]

That’s about all I can think of at the moment. (oh, and your doing a vanity search isn’t anything to me… I do it all the time! )

F_X

Aslan2, your answer can be found here.

And yes… “Flamster” rhymes with hamster.
