With some embarrassment, I admit that I have not seen it and neither has anyone in my family. I always *mean *to see it. Let’s say it’s in my mental queue. Maybe I think it’s just sort of about our regular life and we have plenty of that! Silly, though–I’m sure we’d get something out of it. Now that you’ve reminded me of it, I’ll look it up on Netflix and leave the tab open! Thanks, Nawth Chucka.
I have lesbian friends that used AI for both of their children, and they belong to a Facebook group of other families that have used the same donor - so all the kids are half-sibs also. Do you belong to such a group?
I haven’t tapped into anything other than the Donor-Sibling Registry, which has been around for maybe 15+ years. That database carries info from dozens of cryobanks and has a number of ways of searching depending on what you already know about the donor.
Is your friends’ fb page for just that one donor’s offspring or for a number of family circles?
And Bob Ducca, did your friends use the same donor to conceive both kids? I’ve talked to the mothers of two boys–one shares Asa’s donor and the other has a different donor. It was a little sticky for them, I recall, because then one of their boy’s had a half-sibling and the other didn’t. We lost touch so I don’t know how they handled that.
Yes, I’m fairly certain that they used the same donor for both children.
I think that specific FB group is just for offspring of that donor, however they connected with each other. It sounded like it was a pretty common thing to do for people in their (and your) situation.
