I must say your positive attitude is simply awe-inspiring. Keep on truckin’ (wheelin) bro!
Love the picture of your new wheels, Brian! That’s one sharp looking ride! So I guess the ramp isn’t built yet…are they putting on the front of the house or the back? If it’s the front, maybe you could get them to add a porch like this house I pass down on Hilliard…most beautiful porch/ramp combo I’ve seen! Though I suspect you are getting the Basic Model Ramp, right? But with a front porch you could do some major stuff on Halloween!
And I have a ton more soup in the freezer if you’d like some more. And I just unearthed a Hitchcock DVD if you want to borrow it. 26 hours, 20 movies on 4 DVD’s…some I’ve never heard of. The Chaney Vase, The Sorceror’s Apprentice, Blackmail, Champagne…etc.
I still say this is a ploy to make sure all future CleveDopeFests are held at YOUR place, but at least you’ll let us bring food and clean up after the next one!
Pics, or you’re bleedin’ demised!
The proffessionals will decide the best ramp for my property, it will probubly be a lift.
I love your soup!
Yes, all future Dopefests in Cleveland will be here, oh darn.
Don’t completely remove yourself from the decision-making process for this ramp and what will/won’t be needed. I went through something similar when I first was paralyzed and living with my parents and had their house renovated with a ramp. The initial plans for the ramp included features that I adamently insisted wouldn’t be needed (such as handrails and other things) and that I didn’t want. I had to do a fair bit of convincing in order to let the “professionals” include my preferences in favor of what they had planned but it ultimately worked out for the best.
Thank you. It will probubly be a lift, owing to the size of my propery and the height of my stairs.
I meant that they know the building codes and I don’t.
Oh. Gotcha. :o
But the advice is still good.
I sent you a Friend request on FB. When you see the request from someone with a last name you can’t pronounce, that’ll be me.
And congrats on your new mobility!
Cool, thanks!
Update:
I now have PT and OT twice a week at my home (Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy).
Thursday a company is coming to do an assesment on my house for a stair-glide and a wheel-in shower.
My nuerologist will be starting me on a new drug that might show promise.
On a humorous note, I was at a buddy’s house on Sunday for a BBQ. When he was helping me into the house to use the bathroom, he actually asked if I was able to remove my shoes!
I told him that if I sat down to remove my shoes, I would no longer need the bathroom, but he’d need a mop!
Update (and bump):
I just got approved for a Medicaid Waiver!
Congratulations!
It’s only waiver thin…
Oh yeah? How do we know you’re still a real live guy in a wheelchair?
There will probubly be an open house for trick or treat.
C’mon over!
